Added 2021-03-10 23:23:59 +0000 UTCGreetings everyone :)
The Tier 3 poll for which article goes into Mythic Magazine #4 is done, and the winner is ... practical tips for getting organized for a solo session! I'm getting started on that. I plan to do some research for it.
Also work on Mythic GME Revised continues, and it's looking good! It's going to be a completely rewritten version of the Mythic GME, with a couple of fundamental changes such as a slightly revamped Fate Chart. The book is targeting new players for the most part, so I'm presenting it with a cleaner look and more on point writing. It's going to include some elements from other publications, such as Mythic Variations II and The Adventure Crafter, that I think should be in the core Mythic book.
My intention is that this be the best presentation and implementation of a solo system available anywhere. There's 18 years of history behind Mythic and a lot has happened in that time. I'm not calling this a Second Edition because I don't feel the changes I'm making are fundamental enough, this is more a cleaning up and organizing of the system. There is nothing new that will break it from other content (like the Variations books), and in some ways this book will be more compatible with the Mythic Deck than the original Mythic GME is.
Work is moving fairly quickly and I expect to have it out by the end of March. I'll start with the pdf version and the print will follow. I'd prefer to launch both at the same time but considering that it often takes me around 3 test prints to fix printing issues waiting on the POD version of the book would delay it a few months.
I'll keep you all posted with how it's going. Feel free to ask any questions about it here.
Mythic Complete is also in production, although some of the changes I'm making with Mythic Revised will change Mythic Complete. I'll discuss that more when Mythic Revised is done.
Happy adventuring everyone!

I'm excited to see this new edition when it comes out! It'd be nice to have more of the content from the various volumes under one cover for simpler reference—I know that comes under the purview of Mythic Complete, most likely, but I'll be getting both. I'm also going to be leveraging your Palatial Dungeon Crawl article to generate an abandoned base for my Star Wars solo adventurers to tackle soon!

2021-03-22 21:30:14 +0000 UTCThanks Martin :) I'm still working out what will be in it, but anything that doesn't make it into Mythic Revised will be in Mythic Complete. I find myself working in the reverse order of what I did in 2003. Back then I made Mythic RPG first, the big book, then used a pared down version of that for the Mythic GME afterward, the smaller book. This time I'm starting with the smaller book and using that to work up to the bigger book. The goal is much the same though: to have one book with the essential fundamentals, and the other book with everything currently available.

2021-03-11 23:48:32 +0000 UTCWow, very exciting news! You really got me thinking what else will be included in the Revised GME... If you added the character creator tables from TAC and maybe the (simplified) behavior check that would be all I’d wanted when I began solo rpg, in just one book. I can’t wait to see what *you* do with this!

2021-03-11 00:13:04 +0000 UTCLooking forward to both! Thank you. Think the POD version, of Mythic GME, will be out by July 4th? I am just starting solo play and am getting all of my stuff together. It took me a bit to decide but I have went with Fantasy Grounds so I can start practicing as I have the original GME.
