Baby Mythic

Since John asked for images of some of the early stuff, I dug out a copy of an early proofing print version of Mythic from 2001. I initially put Mythic on Lulu since it was the only place online to get print-on-demand books at the time. The early editions of Mythic were quite small and done on spiral bound spines.

You can see my markings all over the pages here. I have maybe a half dozen marked up copies of Mythic. I kept thinking it was done, ordering a copy, reading it, and suddenly seized by new ideas and changes to make. While I originally meant to just produce a copy for myself, as I shifted to making it available as a commercial product I realized it needed a lot more material inside to make it worthy.

This version was a little bit smaller in page size, about 8x10.

I included in the photos here a copy of the first page of the Event Meaning Table. At that time it was called the Event Meaning Table: Divination. If you can read the text you'll see that it is very much influenced by Tarot. It was just one table of 1-200, not two tables of 1-100 each. I eventually decided that these entries were too verbose and needed to be distilled down into single word summations. Also, breaking it into two tables of 1-100 made it easier to roll and offered up thousands of word pairings instead of just 200 individual words.
