Mythic Complete

I've started work on Mythic Complete and I am reaching a point where I need to make a decision about the identity of this book. I've raised this issue before, but it's time to get into it in more detail.

I originally envisioned Mythic Complete as a simple compilation of the red Mythic book with the two variations books, and to just have it look nicer. That's it.

The more I get into this though, the more new material I want to add. There are little bits here and there that should be included. Since I'm also doing this as I'm making Mythic Magazine, some ideas from Mythic Magazine might bleed in. For instance, the simplified Behavior Check should be included.

If I include new material and adjustments to old material, this becomes less Mythic Complete and more Mythic Second Edition.

If I go the second edition route, I don't want to change anything fundamental. For instance, the Fate Table would remain exactly the same. I don't see anything old being changed, I only see new material being added. This would allow Mythic Second Edition to still sit on the virtual shelves alongside the red and blue book Mythics and be compatible.

What is everyone's thoughts on this? Should I go with Mythic Complete, and provide the same material but in a better volume, or a Mythic Second Edition and include new material?

Please keep in mind that when I say new material, I'm not talking about much. In total, this may be only 10 or less pages of new stuff. It's going to be a big, expensive book, and I wouldn't want someone feeling like they have to shell out $40 for a print book just to get a few pages of new material.

That's been my feeling too, I want to be careful not to imply that there is more new material in this book than there is. 2e would definitely imply that. Even with new material, it's still 95% going to be the old material presented in a more fresh book. I suppose no one is going to complain if Mythic Complete has more in it, making it ... more than complete? lol Something else I can do is publish Mythic Complete as discussed above, with new material, and put out another, smaller book that just has the new material in it. That way those who already have a complete Mythic collection can just get the smaller book, or get the bigger book if they want the new look.

I still like it being called Mythic Complete even with with the addition of the new material 😁 I think "Mythic Revised" or "Mythic 2e" would imply the addition of *more* new information, or rule changes, etc. I think we all want the variations and things like the simpler behavior check in with the red and blue book info, no matter what it's called 😁👍🎉 (and a Happy New Year to Tana and everyone here! 🥳🥳🥳)

How about calling it Mythic Revised, or Mythic Plus. That way those of us who've used Mythic in the past won't be looking for a total revamp, while those who're new to Mythic won't feel intimidated.
