Mythic Magazine #2

Greetings and happy new year everyone! I hope January is getting to a good start. I'm happy so far with it, although the last season of Earth, season 2020, I had real issues with the writing and storyline.

I am starting work on the next issue of Mythic Magazine. Do you have thoughts on what should be in it?

These are some things I'm thinking of:

• A discussion about Altered Scenes and a few ways to approach them.
• Using Mythic with pre-published adventures (although there is a lot of discussion about this online already and I'm not sure I can do any better)
• Dealing with Player knowledge versus Character knowledge
• A method to generate Location Crafter locations completely randomly, without filling out the tables first.
• A deeper dive into Custom Theme Event Focus Tables, with a collection of specialty theme tables to use.

I could go on, but I'll just stop it right there. These are things that I'm thinking of, but you may have other ideas or feel like there is something timely to address.

As always, happy adventuring! :)

Along with the pre-published adventures, I think player knowledge vs. character knowledge and the random Location Crafter generations would be of interest

Great subjects, although personally I think the published adventure approached is quite dependent on the level of interpretative freedom you want from the module, and therefore quite subjective in usefulness, for me at least! I would love to see some insight in how you go about making your descriptor tables! They are amazingly versatile without being too specific for specific genres and adventures. Cheerio!

Tana, I agree - it would be nice to get your views on working with pre-published adventures.

While there is discussion on "Using Mythic with pre-published adventures" it would be nice to, maybe, formalize how to go about it with Mythic. It wouldn't have to cover everything in this issue and could be a multi-part series of how to handle different things.
