One Step At A Time

Most people who visit my family’s home know our dog Dash as the yappy little stranger hater, but to us he’s been a little ball of light that helped us get through some dark times. I’ll never forget how out of character Dash acted when my grandpa passed away, but it made me truly believe that dogs and animals can feel when we are mourning, and going through a difficult time. As time went on, we started to emotionally heal, but there were a lot of subtle things around us that made that process a little easier to go through, with one of them being Dash. Whenever I go on walks with him and my family, that moment feels more cherished knowing that time is limited. He’s included in our basic family routines, and even sits at our dining table with us. He is one of the reasons my family was able to do a cross country road trip, since bringing a dog on a plane could sometimes get complicated. He definitely enhances our day to day lives, but during times of despair, it felt like his presence was always trying to show us/tell us something deeper. TLDR I am grateful for my little demon pup for helping us get through hell and back, and he just had his 13th birthday last Friday 🥲 and you know how i feel about pet birthdays so… yeah we shan’t talk about that lol 😇.
