The Noblesse

(Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei/Noblesse fanfic xover)

(Melaina Clare O’Donnell Di-Raizel)

March 01st, 2095
Sanctum Santorum
Ritual/Library Room
08:50 PM

After I told Miyuki how her brother had found out about us sleeping together, she was mortified. She basically performed a show for Tatsuya. But I didn't mind, next time I would be in the Home with Miyuki and he wouldn't be peeping. It's kind of weird that I don't want to break his face for watching me make love to my new sex friend.

Since then we found no time to do it again, somehow Tatsuya was always in our vicinity, watching or keeping us busy with studying or sports. He even forced me and Miyuki to join Kokonoe Yakumo's Ninjutsu practices. My days were filled between Ninjutsu lessons, etiquette and studying for the First High Academy Entrance.

Speaking about the Home, I opened the blood portal with Miyuki in tow. She looked fetching today. She wore a short black dress which showed a lot of her cleavage, with tights and a silver belt that matched with her ballerina shoes. I had opened the portal directly in the library. The teenage girl's head swivel left and right as she looked at the sanctum's mystical library; overhead, the floating starlight shards were illuminating the library's central room, the crystal lights which were strategically placed between the shelves and the multiple floors with the millions of books from the UK that I acquired -read steal- filling the shelves.

There was the entirety of the British nation's magical library here (I know I went crazy in my looting spree). My Library contains dangerous and forbidden spells, arcane Spell Books and priceless Ancient Artifacts and MacGuffins from all over Britain. Because these things are valuable - and it would be disastrous if these items were to fall into the wrong hands - the Home doesn't let anyone access this part of it so easily.

There were some historical books and treatises that my maids put into the Vault under preservation magic. I was so afraid to consult them that I was paralyzed when I tried to not damage them. That's it this place needed a server farm! And I needed to develop a way to turn physical data into digital data.

In fact if I wasn't there Miyuki would never have had access, but I was semi-dating her at that point and love makes you do stupid things. We stopped in a nook filled with comfort furniture, a low table, and with sinfully comfy sofas. Miyuki gawked at the floating books which were arranging themselves alone on the shelves.

It was an awesome scene, it was like being in a fantasy movie. One of my spirit maids arrived in a shimmering shower of lights and I saw the familiar form of Viktorya wearing her recently modified maid outfit. She went for the Maid Cafe version.

The brown haired and beautiful girl bowed. "Welcome back, mistress!"

I smiled at her, leg crossed as I looked at her. "Good evening, Viktorya."

She turned her attention to Miyuki who looked at her with awe. "Oh you brought a guest. Who might she be?"

"This is my friend, Shiba Miyuki."

Viktorya gave me a knowing smile. "A friend, huh. Enchanted to meet you, Miss Shiba." She curtsied flawlessly.

Miyuki rose from her sofa and slightly bowed as well. "Um, me as well, Miss Viktorya."

"Could you fetch us coffee, please?" I asked the maid.

She nodded and gave me a radiant smirk. "I will be back with some snacks!"

I waved at her as she disappeared in a shower of sparks. "Later, Viktorya! Hmm, she should be back in twenty minutes."

Miyuki's head wiped toward me, she sat at my side and began shaking me. "Melaina! Where are we?"

I laughed a bit, she was cute when she was panicking. I began to explain, "This is my pocket dimension, I call it the Home. It is some kind of pocket world which responds to all my desires and wants. I want to show it to you, and because of how much you mean to me."

Miyuki's gaze left me to return to the mystical library and its floating books, magical lighting and Spirit maids. Then she said, "That’s not possible. Melaina, pocket dimension? Really? Don't you realize what it means?" Her sapphire eyes returned on me and there was a lot of denial in them.

I smirked at her. "What does it mean then?"

She let go of me, stood up and pointed her fingers at the big space between shelves that kept enlarging and making new shelves as more books were being sorted. "Spatial manipulation magic is impossible for modern magic. And you possessing a pocket dimension hint at it! That 's possible!"

Well no shit, Spatial compression is basically space and dimensional manipulation. I nodded to her and said calmly, "You said it yourself, my darling. Modern magic can't do that but…"

Then the beautiful girl realized, "Ancient Magic can! Kami, this is unbelievable." She sat back down at my side.

She picked her CAD phone from her pocket and asked, "Can I make some scans?!"

I leaned against her. "Knock yourself out, love."

The beautiful smile she threw my way was absolutely worth it. She started to let her fingers dance on the CAD’s screen, I didn’t bother intercept the signals coming from the device to know what it did; the fucking magical radar using Psion dispersal told me all I needed to know. The dispersed Psion then came back and then Miyuki gasped as the results came back on her screen. "This… this place can't be geo-located, and it's not tethered to our world axis!"

“Uhuh.” I said as I smelled her hair; such a sweet and delicious scent.

My eyes must have started to glow because Miyuki froze and asked me in a little voice. "Melaina, are you human?"

I heard her heart beat faster. With a tilt of my head I said, "Well… I am half human if that counts?"

The black haired beauty chuckled nervously. “You’re not a vampire, right? You aren’t going to turn me, right?”

Stopping leaning on her, I scowled at her and said in an offended manner, “I’m a Noble. Vampires don’t exist. Stakes, garlic or the sun are no weakness of mine.”

I felt a childish part of Miyuki being disappointed, but she became rather interested in what ‘a Noble’ is. She grabbed my hands into hers and stared at me with that hypnotic glare of hers that made me want to sell her my soul. "Tell me everything, Onee-sama."

Just in time, Viktorya arrived with a rolling tray filled with slices of cakes, pies and tea. We were not going to go hungry while I explained who I am to her.

(Shiba Miyuki)

Miyuki listened to Melaina with rapt attention, the other girl had a soothing voice which the Shiba girl could listen to telling her stories everyday if she could. “Nobles are an ancient and powerful race that possess great strength, speed and telepathy as well as various blood related abilities, such as the talent to grant similar powers to others via contracts "of blood and soul". They reside on an island nation, known as Lukedonia, that cannot be detected by human senses.

They have guarded humans against predators and the forces of nature as long as they have existed, due to a genetic inability to ignore the slaughter of the weak, helpless humans. Thousands of years ago, they were worshiped as gods by various cultures around the world.”

Miyuki sipped on her tea as she listened about the hidden history of this world. “I think that even the oldest of the Nobles don’t know where we came from, it is still a mystery that they’re trying to solve.”

It was like being in a Anne-Rice novel, she fell in with an incredibly powerful supernatural person and she had wrapped her around her finger. Miyuki wasn’t blind, Melaina was falling in love with her. She was certainly going to take advantage of this; in a good way…

“But what about them being Magicians?” Miyuki put down her teacup on its saucer.

Melaina grinned. “Oh that, we only recently discovered that we can use magic. When I say recently it means one thousand years ago though…”

If Miyuki didn’t know that Melaina was really one year older than her, she would think that the girl was centuries older. “Then what did you use before?”

Melaina waved her hands and a trail of pinkish light followed its wake. “Oh, we use Aura.”

Miyuki focused on that aura stuff, it was fascinating. Melaina continued to speak, she stood up and around her body a slight haze of light could be observed. "Aura is a manifestation of the soul, a life force that runs through every living creature on Terra -What we call this planet-, whether they are a meager shopkeep or a renowned knight, everyone is able to wield Aura. It can be used for a wide range of abilities. The specific abilities and their strengths differ from individual to individual and are dependent on a number of factors, such as experience, training and innate skill."

“What does it do, beyond being pretty to look at?” Miyuki asked.

Melaina's answer was to unleash her aura which covered over five meters around her. "It is predominantly used for protection from harm. It can be turned into a forcefield, used for energy beams, bombs and constructs (such as spears and platforms). Oh, yes. Some people develop an active power called a Semblance or what you know by the name of… superpowers when they awaken their Aura.”

Miyuki stood up in turn and shouted, “No way!”

The Noble girl gave her lover a knowing smile. “Yes way. My people unlocked the secrets of magic way before your people, Miyuki. We know what Superpowers are, it’s the same as magic you know? Thus, it makes Aura Manipulation a pathway to many abilities some might consider to be unnatural.”

Melaina acted as if she was waiting for something, then Miyuki replayed the last sentence in her mind. The girl is so nerdy that she quoted Star Wars… Miyuki walked up to Melaina and gave her her best puppy eyes. “Can I… can I learn about this power?”

With glowing red eyes, Melaina reeled back in her Aura and put her hands on Miyuki’s shoulder. “I can teach you.”

“Yes! Thank you, Melaina!” A bit disturbed by the shining eyes effect, Miyuki averted her gaze from Melaina’s face by hugging her.

Melaina's hands fell down Miyuki's back and she whispered, “But, you’ll have to pledge yourself to me. I cannot teach an outsider about Nobles’ secret.”

Miyuki froze and realized that this wasn't going to be free… She chuckled and stepped away from the taller girl. “Melaina? What did we say about not turning me?”

With a deadpan glare, Melaina said, “I’m not turning you, I’m not a vampire. If I make the offer it’s for your own protection as well. But… let me explain what I am asking you will entail: If you’re willing, you and I can pledge a contract. Your consent in this is paramount or it will not work.

A contract is made with a Noble and a human by taking blood. Blood is only a medium that is exchanged as a ritual or expression. The true contract of soul is formed when the two people forming the contract agree to enter the bond willingly. Then a bond of blood is formed. As a result, the human is reborn with self-consciousness and power similar to that of a Noble.”

Miyuki said nothing when Melaina finished her explanation, she went back to sit and ponder her choice. This was basically to put herself under Melaina's sway, a bit like a marriage between the two of them. The Noble girl sat at her side and passed her arm around Miyuki's shoulder and whispered, “If it can reassure you, then I can tell you that Tatsuya made a blood contract with my father, he is fine. That’s why he has kept his human emotion after the bad experiment that Maya and Miya did on him when he was little.”

So not like a marriage, but more akin to a vassalage. A vassal or liege subject is a person regarded as having a mutual obligation to a lord or monarch, in the context of the feudal system in medieval Europe. While the subordinate party is called a vassal, the dominant party is called a suzerain. And Tatsuya entered into one with Melaina's father to save his life.

Miyuki stared at Melaina. “Um, okay. So many revelations… and your father? Who is that?”

The deadpan look on her lover's face switched to an expression of pure adoration, which made Miyuki's face redden. It was as if the sun had risen, it was blinding. *Melaina can make smiles like that? Why didn't she show me this before? I want to take her to bed…*

Melaina answered Miyuki's question with a dreamy tone. “The most handsome and strongest man in the world. Cadis Etrama Di Raizel, my father.”

Miyuki's mind refused to accept this! Tatsuya was the most handsome and strongest man! “No way, that’s Onii-sama.”

With a flash of red eyes, Melaina fished out her phone from her pocket, unlocked it with her index' fingerprint and looked for something on it. “Let me open your horizons on what true beauty is.”

Melaina handed the phone to Miyuki and the girl became speechless as she saw the picture of an extremely handsome and elegant individual. He has scarlet-red eyes and jet black hair. He has a silver cross earring on his left ear; has an unemotional, regal demeanour, and he inspires awe and respect.

“Oh Kami, it’s unfair how handsome he is! Aunt Maya is married to that man?!” Miyuki shouted in shock as she looked at Melaina.

Melaina gave her a smug smile. “I know right? He ruined me for any other men, none of them can be a match compared to him… but maybe your brother can fit the bill.”

A fairy materialized again, this time it wasn't Viktorya who came. It was a short and petite girl with long silver hair, a red right eye, and a black eye patch over her left eye. Her maid dress stopped at her knee, she wore a tactical harness and weapons. *Who is that? She looks dangerous.*

The girl walked up to Melaina with a silver tray, on which sat an ornate silver knife. Melaina took it from the tray and thanked the girl, “Thank you, Laura. Anyway, Miyuki, here is a charmed knife. The decision is entirely with you.”

Laura bowed and stepped back, not leaving the room as she was needed later. Melaina handed the knife to Miyuki and waited for the girl’s decision. It took over five minutes for her to decide, she cut her wrist and blood pooled from, then something incredible happened the wound closed as if healed. The knife was glowing with a green light, showing that that was it doing the healing.

Miyuki's blood didn't fall and pool onto the ground but started floating and gathered into an empty teacup that Melaina had in her hand. The girl then drank it with a big gulp.

Her eyes glowed with red light, then she soulfully stared into Miyuki's red eyes. "Shiba Miyuki, you and I are now joined by blood. Do you agree to this exchange between our souls?"

This was it, this was going to bind them forever, there would be no taking Melaina away from her. It was a more concrete pact which would give Miyuki immortality and a boost in power. The atmosphere around them warmed up and a golden flash of light surrounded them as she said the words, “Yes… my love.”

Melaina made the teacup float on the low table, grabbed Miyuki and smooched her. When she opened her mouth next, it was to say, "With this… Miyuki, my love, we will stay together forever. But we aren’t done yet."

"Oh?" Miyuki tilted her head.

But all was explained when the other girl's Aura appeared around she touched Miyuki at the center of her chest. "For it is in courage that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of hope and light to rise above darkness. Infinite in compassion and bound by duty, I release your soul, and by my shoulder, help thee…"

Back with Melaina…
Same day
Room of Requirements
11:47 PM

I tied my hair into a ponytail, and I wore my gym clothes; just like Miyuki who had been surprised that the Room of Requirements was a thing.

"Hadō #1. Shō." I pointed my index finger to the armor wearing mannequin. A small amount of red colored spiritual energy is dispelled from the tip of my index finger and…

Clang! It pushed the mannequin from two meters away.

"Bakudō # 1. Sai." I pointed my index and middle fingers at the mannequin and its arms locked painfully behind its back.

My Demonic Arts were so easy to use and versatile, those were less lethal than all my other techniques stolen from the UK's Magicians. There was also the fact that I can use the O’Donnell War Magics which were more than Lethal, but apocalyptic. I needed a middle ground, so I came up mostly with Aura arts and Kido on my own, though the Archmage and Blank Essence were guiding me and telling me if it was possible to bring those magic systems in my current setting.

"Awesome, Melaina!" Miyuki jumped on me and hugged me.

With a proud smile I told her, "This was my spiritual magic that I ripped off from an anime called BLEACH from the start of the 21st century."

"Wait… really?!" Her eyes became so big and she felt so incredulous to my telepathy.

I straightened my glasses on my nose and said, "You'll learn something about me, Miyuki… is that most stuff in fiction I can almost always replicate and teach it to someone."

"So, do you want to learn?" I asked her.

She let go of me, with clear shock onto her face. "You… you want to teach me another magic system? But…"

I nodded, crossing my arms under my breasts; her eyes automatically went to them, then she extricated her gaze from my hypnotic melons and looked back into my eyes as I explained, "You can learn now because you got Aura. And Aura is soul power, and soul power is spiritual in origin."

"Aaah! Very well." She nodded.

"Okay, let's do this, try the kidô spell first. "I appeared behind her, holding on her right arm that I made her raise; Miyuki pointed her finger at the mannequin.

“First you must seek that container of energy in you, it’s most likely near your heart.” I said in her ear.

I felt her desire rise and call to me; but I helped her focus by holding onto her belly. “Focus, Miyuki.”

She made an atomic blush as she yelled, “I feel it!”

Wow she was a quick study! It took me longer to detect my well of spiritual power. My arms tightened around her abdomen. “Good, good. Now pull on it, try to shape the spell by imagining pushing someone away. Now say it.”

"Hadō #1. Shō."

Clang! Just like before a red haze of energy surged from her finger and pushed the armor away, it was less powerful than mine though.

“I did it!” She turned and hugged me tightly.

"Yep, you succeeded." I patted her back.

She then stepped away from me and had a really serious expression on her face. "I want to teach you something too! I noticed that you can't use Flash Cast or Psion Transfer. Do you want me to teach you? You're giving me so much, it would be so unfair to not give anything back. And you're part of the family, so I can teach you…"

I shrugged. “Why not.”

She approached me and put her hands around my face. “Okay then… let's start with Flash Cast. It is the Yotsuba secret technique to cast at fast speeds without the use of a CAD. It is made possible by mentally "carving" the images of the Activation Sequence into memory…”

(Shiba Tatsuya)

Melaina's room
01:20 AM

Tatsuya was annoyed. He was sitting on Melaina's sofa, facing the giant screen that she recently bought, remote in hand. He was waiting for the two girls to come back from wherever they went. Miyuki wasn’t usually this late; it was obvious that Melaina was being a bad influence on her. His Elemental Sight was on, and he had noticed the spirits all over the room, reinforcing the windows, the walls and spying on him.

One had tried to attack him earlier, but he dispersed it with Gram Demolition, since then the other spirits didn’t bother him. Tatsuya’s eyes coldly slid onto the low table between him and the TV screen; on it was a message that Melaina generously wrote for him. Yes, at least the girl had a conscience… she left a note which said:

"Don’t look for us. We will be back later… tonight."

He didn’t rage or get angry, he just decided to stay in Melaina’s room, waiting for her return to give her a piece of his mind. Tatsuya lifted his wrist and looked at the time, and just when he was about to start his breathing exercises, he felt a disturbance in the flow of Psions which was similar to when Melaina and Miyuki disappeared. Blood red essence swirled in the room and solidified into an… aperture.

Exiting out of it two tired looking girls Melaina and Miyuki, they wore different outfits from earlier, he can only describe those as fetish sportswear. It let their curves, arms and legs be completely seen. He stood up from his seated position and then Melaina was the first to see him.

"Tatsuya?" Melaina called out his name with her melodious voice tinged with surprise.

She must ask herself how Tatsuya survived in the minefield that she called bedroom. This place is better guarded than some of the rooms of the Yotsuba compound; if he wasn’t who he was, he would have died. Just trying to pass the door could kill someone.

"Where have you been?" He asked calmly, but he wanted to shake the girl and be rough with her, that’s how annoyed he felt.

Melaina was not afraid of him, she just swore, "Damn, busted."

“Onee-sama!” Miyuki cried out at the other girl’s swearing.

A tick nerve appeared on Tatsuya's forehead. "One moment you were in your room, and then you created some kind of portal and disappeared from the surface of the Earth. Then hours later you appear the same way, with Miyuki in tow. Do you realize how worried I was?"

“I can explain! Don’t be angry, please…” The girl pleaded with crocodile tears.

*She won’t pull a Miyuki on me.*

With a commanding voice, Tatsuya said, "Seiza, now."

Miyuki was already in perfect seiza, with her head bowed, she knew that she was in trouble. The boy’s eyes focused on melaina who was still standing, his Aura flared as his control on his anger was slipping. "Do it, Melaina-san."

“Uh oh.” Melaina immediately put herself in seiza position.

“Good, now you’re going to tell me where you’ve been, what you did, why didn’t you come back earlier. Everything.” Tatsuya demanded.

The girl flinched away as his aura heavily weighed on her. Tatsuya noticed how a thin white-blue film started to appear one centimeter from Miyuki’s skin. He glared, somehow his sister unlocked her aura, how? His eyes slid back on Melaina who raised her hands in placation. “Ca-calm down, Tatsu-chan.”

“Tell me what you did… This is an order.”

Melaina averted her eyes from. “O-okay…”

And then she explained something outlandish, her possessing ancient magic that could create a pocket world and that she took Miyuki there to explore and teach her spirit magic. Tatsuya was skeptical but he just saw Melaina and Miyuki exiting a portal of blood like Lord Raizel. “I see, so you possess some kind of extra-space not in line with this world time and space axis.”

“Yes.” The glasses girl nodded.

Tatsuya took his CAD in his right hand, pulled glasses HUD from his tactical belt and demanded, “Bring me there, then.”

“Okay, you should just calm down, Tatsu-chan. I’m not the enemy here.” The girl stood up and opened a portal.

Tatsuya almost entered, but he stopped and said, “By the way, Miyuki and you are grounded for two weeks.”

The two girls rose up and yelled in turn:

“That’s unfair!”

“I agree with her… we didn’t even leave the house!”

Tatsuya wasn’t so compassionate tonight. “Life isn’t fair, Imouto. Do you want me to add one more week to your punishment?”

Melaina stood at attention and shouted, “No, sir!”

“No, Onii-sama!” There were tears in Miyuki's eyes, warming up Tatsuya’s cold heart and putting a damper on his ire. Melaina looked miserable as well, then he turned and entered the portal; the girls followed him.

They ended up in a small garden with a ring shaped artifact with glyphs on its surface. The portal behind them closed, a small path was lit up by burning torches. Five hundred meters away was a house and a gigantic garden with all sorts of mystical trees and flower bushes between them.

“So, this is… your Home. It Looks quite fantastic.” Tatsuya praised.

The architecture of the ring was mostly Celtic, with Norse runes overlaying the portal. Melaina was fidgeting, looking around as if it was the first time that she was seeing the place. “Okay… yeah it is, I really like how it presents itself right now.”

Tatsuya’s left eyebrow rose. “Wait, it doesn’t look like this originally?”

It was Miyuki who answered this. “No, Onii-sama. We were in the Sanctum previously, you see that big house further away?”

“Yes.” It was a Victorian style house; it brimmed with defenses and otherworldly things that he couldn’t name. It actually scared Tatsuya, he didn’t think that he could destroy it…

Melaina looked thoughtful as she said, “I have a hypothesis why it’s different today… Sometimes there’s mist all over the garden and you can’t see what is beyond. I think it’s because my power is sealed by my father.”

Tatsuya could understand that, a plan formed in his mind. With the addition of Melaina as a Guardians, Miyuki would always possess an impregnable fallback position. Miyuki reacted to her lover’s comment as she asked, “Wait, sealed? Onee-sama, how strong are you?”

“Stronger than your brother.” Melaina said smugly as she placed an arm around Miyuki’s waist.

Miyuki looked doubtful at Melaina's claim, while Tatsuya rolled his eyes. “We’re more evenly matched at this point in time, don’t you think?”

Sigh. “Fine, yes just like he said.” Melaina admitted.

The doubtful expression cleared from Miyuki's face and she nodded. "You'll have to show me, Onee-sama."

"Let's go…" Melaina blushed when Miyuki kissed her cheek.

“I see… this has potential.” They began walking toward the house, there were creatures in the forest; things that were no more bigger than birds and sheeps and goats.

When they arrived before the Sanctum, Tatsuya announced, “Starting now, this is a Shiba family secret, this doesn’t leak out. Understood?”

“Yes, sir.” Melaina finally smiled and she saluted in the way of the JSDF.

He saw in his mind’s eye Melaina with her own military uniform at his side… yeah, he needed to contact Colonel Kazama…
