Chapter 240: One Week Training Arc (3)
Added 2024-04-16 14:10:17 +0000 UTCAmelia breathed in. And then, she breathed out.
‘Let’s do this according to plan.’ Amelia gripped her staff, before jumping away from the tree she was hiding behind, and aimed her staff at Raegis’s back.
“ᚷᛖᚹᚨᚢ, Wind.” A few wind slices were thrown at Raegis, who had dodged the wind blades, without even turning back to look at Amelia, as she cart-rolled a couple steps back.
Just as Raegis planted her feet onto the ground, she found that they were stuck. . .underneath the ground? She turned to look at Amelia who had an annoying smirk on her face, as her staff glowed an earth-like color.
“Annoying,” Raegis scrunched her nose, as she cut open the muddy ground her foot was submerged under as she jumped up to dodge an incoming fire, landing on a branch only for her to find out that her right hand, which was touching the trunk of the tree had been stuck.
She looked and saw that her hand had been caught in a bunch of twigs. Raegis was seriously starting to get annoyed. Just as she roughly yanked her hand away from the twigs, she turned to look at Amelia. . .only to find that the annoying long-ears were gone?
“She ran away?” Raegis scratched her head. Does this mean that it was her victory?
As she started to puff out her chance at the ‘victory’, Amelia was actually hidden underneath the tree that Raegis was standing on. She had casted a barrier of wind around her that made it so that any noise she made, or even her scent had been erased.
It wasn’t easy casting this spell, since it required her utmost focus and also because this wind barrier was draining her mana reserves like crazy. But it was fine, since she got right underneath the gloating bitch.
She only had a split second. Only a split second to enact her plan. The moment she released her barrier, was the moment Raegis would notice her, and at this distance, she would have her head in under a second.
So, Amelia focused. She focused and tried to do something that she hadn’t perfected yet.
“Dual-casting,” A bead of sweat dripped down Amelia’s forehead. While she had to focus on maintaining her wind-barrier, she also had to cast another spell, a spell of destruction, a spell that would definitely knock out the mutt from this distance.
But it would be a little long.
“ᚠᛁᛋᚢᛚᚲᛖᛞᛁᚾ ᛒᚱᚨᚢᚲᚨᛞᛁᚦ-”
Just a little more.
“ᚠᛟᚱ ᚷᛖᚹᚨᚢᚱᚾᚨᚦᚨ ᛁᚱᛞᚷᛁᛏᚢᚾᛁᚱ”
The damn mutt was freaking dancing! She was almost done.
“ᚦᚨᚱᛖᛋ ᛈᚨᛚᚨᚾᛖᚱ ᛚᛖᚾᛞᛖᚱᛋ-”
Amelia released the wind-barrier. In under a second, as the last incantation of her spell was about to leave her tongue, she saw it. She saw the panicked look on Raegis’s face as she had realized the ambush Amelia was preparing for. And, she also saw that with a blink of her eye, one moment Raegis was on the branch, the next, her enhanced branch-sword was inches away from her green eyes.
But, she was still too late.
“ᛈᛖ, Vortex.”
And, right in front of the beastkin, a vortex of green flames appeared right before her, roaring into life as if akin to an eastern dragon before swallowing her alive.
ROARRR!
Amelia tried to get some distance away from her own spell, as she watched from afar at how she had successfully casted her fusion spell of fire and wind. Currently, this was the most destructive spell she had underneath her arsenal, and also the two elements in which she was the most blessed with.
“Burn in hell, bitch.”
Amelia watched at the hellish scenery as if she wasn’t the cause of it. The vortex of fire burned red-hot, with tinges of green as wind blew life into the fire, causing it to become bigger and more violent by the minute. The nearby trees only served to be fuel for the destructive, fiery cyclone as it burned down anything in it’s wake.
Amelia sniffed the air. “Smells like roasted rockbirds.” Even from her distance, the heat of the flames could be felt, blowing warm air against her face as if she was standing right next to a burning furnace.
The long-eared elf nodded to herself, proud of her work. “That should do-Ugh!” She fell onto one knee, head immediately circling and swimming.
“Mana. . .deprivation. . .” She had used too much mana with that last spell. Amelia tried to get herself together but if it was that easy to escape the side effects of overusing one’s mana, elves would be the most overpowered race in the world.
Sweat continued to drip down her back. “At least. . .I. . .wo-”
"COUNTER!"
Amelia's triumphant expression faltered as immediately with that shout, the vortex of elemental flames and wind had immediately been countered, and redirected back towards the mana-deprived Amelia.
Right before the torrent of fire and wind enveloped her, she saw that Raegis had a cheeky grin on her face, assured of her victory even though her clothes were burnt to a crisp as her useless tits were openly on the display.
So, what did Amelia do before the fiery cyclone eat her up? She simply closed her eyes, and with a gentle smile, she cursed.
“Fuck that mutt-”
And then, she was gone.
***
A couple burnt moments later
Amelia let out a weary sigh, accepting the reality of the situation. She was currently laid on the ground, clothes all but burnt to a crisp as she was as naked as the day she was born. Her uncut elven cock laid on her smooth stomach, as her medium-sized tits were completely out in the open as well. She had fought valiantly, pushed herself to her limits, but Raegis's skill and tenacity had proved insurmountable.
Amelia let out another sigh again. “Alright, you win this time,” Amelia conceded, her voice tinged with a mixture of exhaustion and annoyance. She lowered her gaze, her aura dimming as the remnants of her magic subsided.
She couldn’t lift her head, but she could see the grin on Raegis’s face as clear as day. The damn mutt had the audacity to rub her nose and say, “You fought good. Not as good as Raegis. But, good enough.”
Amelia's frustration welled up within her as Raegis dismissed her efforts. She had come so close to turning the tide of the battle, only to be thwarted by Raegis's skillful defense. Amelia couldn't help but feel a mix of disappointment and annoyance.
"I almost had you!" Amelia retorted, her voice laced with determination. "You were on the ropes. A little more and I would have seared you crisp!"
Raegis's eyes narrowed, a flicker of indignation crossing her face. "Seared me? Yeah right. Long-ears, I wasn't even trying at all. You simply weren't a match for me."
Amelia clenched her fists, her patience wearing thin. "You're just saying that to save your pride! I refuse to believe you had no difficulty dealing with my attacks!"
Raegis's face reddened, her anger mirroring Amelia's. "Want a rematch?!”
Their voices rose, the argument escalating into a full-blown clash of pride. It seemed as if the two young warriors had momentarily forgotten their mutual respect, their words fueled by frustration and wounded egos.
However, before the argument could spiral further out of control, a voice broke through the tension. "That's enough, both of you!"
Amelia and Raegis turned their attention to Willow, who had finished his meditation and now stood with a stern expression on his face. Even though he was shorter than the both of them, he was still the leader.
Willow shook his head. “Bickering like children won’t solve anything. Also, Raegis, you could have ended the match earlier if you had used [Counter] from the beginning.”
Raegis muttered underneath her breath. “But, that’s borin-”
“What?” Willow glared at her.
Raegis immediately lowered her gaze, her doggy ears downturned. “Nothing!”
Willow’s gaze shifted to Amelia who tried to cover her naked-ness, but failed since apparently being seen naked by her crush was arousing enough for her to get a hard-on.
Willow ignored the raw smell of uncut, elven dick. “. . .Amelia, it’s only been a couple of days since you started training your fusion spells and dual-casting. But, you still could have been more aggressive in your fight instead of simply trying to trap Raegis’s footing.”
Amelia seemed to get harder, as her elven dick started to leak precum. Was she some sort of masochist who got off on being scolded?! “Yes. . .”
Willow sighed, his voice softer now. "I understand your desire to prove yourselves, but there are better ways to settle your differences. Use your skills to push each other further, to grow stronger together. You're both part of a team, after all."
Amelia nodded, a sense of humility washing over her, but she still didn’t look at Raegis in the eyes as she apologized. “. . .Sorry.”
Raegis nodded in return, reciprocating the no-look apology. “My bad, long-ears.”
