Bob just nodded, still dumbfounded by the sight of a male omega. Cleo, the alpha of the town, shook her head at Bob's reaction. She had seen many omegas before and knew that they were not as dangerous as they were believed to be.
“Keep on the look-out, Bob. This little one brings trouble wherever he goes,” she warned, before turning to Bambi who just rolled his eyes.
Bob nodded, still taken aback by the presence of a male omega in their town. This was something that was completely unheard of. Or rather, male Omegas were something that he could only hear of, and this was the first time that he had seen one face-to-face. Taking a good look at the male omega, he could see that just like a normal, female Omega, he was blessed with beauty, or rather yet, one could even argue that he was more beautiful than the average female Omega. His body wasn’t something that he could see through due to the heavy amount of layering he covered himself with, but even then, just from his aura alone, there was something about him that invited him. . .asked him, no. . .begged him to just go forward and tak-
“Stop.”
Cleo’s voice struck Bob like thunder. She had used her command. Immediately, Bob stopped, only to realize that he was on the floor, claws extended, his hind legs pushed back as if he was about to pounce on Bambi, who was hiding behind Cleo. Or, was he hiding? He didn’t smell any fear in the air.
Bob huffed and puffed on the floor. It felt like someone had gripped his heart, and mind, as if he was a prisoner in his own mind, slave to his lust.
“Wh-What happened? Why am I-”
Cleo sighed. “I told you he brought trouble wherever he went.” She took another glance at Bob, before her gaze turned sharp. “Get up.”
Immediately, Bob’s spine straightened. He stood up straight as if he was a military recruit in front of a screaming sergeant. His back dripped with sweat as he waited for his punishment.
“I’m not going to punish you, since this was an oversight on my part. Loyal-minded or not, you are still an unmated Beta,” Cleo said. “But make no mistake, Bambi is my guest, and henceforth, a guest of this town itself.”
“Do not make the same mistake again.”
Bob gulped audibly. “Ye-yes Alpha.”
Cleo nodded, before turning to Bambi. “Let’s go.”
“Oh, is it already over?” Bambi poked his head out from behind Cleo’s back, before dusting himself. He took a look at Bob, and saw him sweating bullets before grinning. “Serves you right for calling someone like me as some mere male-”
Cleo turned to him. “I said, let’s go.”
Bambi looked up to Cleo and saw the annoyance in her eyes. He decided at that moment, not to mess with someone who can cook up bone-crushing barriers on the spot. “Yup, lead the way maam.”
Now there were two people sweating bullets.
Cleo and Bambi passed Bob, and were about to enter the town right before Bob quickly composed himself and remembered the reason he was there.
“Alpha, I almost forgot to tell you,” he managed to speak out, stopping Cleo for a moment.
Cleo raised an eyebrow. “Yeah?”
Bob trembled slightly, but still told her, “Your daughter said she wants to see you. Or, in her words, 'Tell mom I need to see her ASAP!’''
Cleo's expression softened at the mention of her daughter. “Alright.” She nodded and turned to lead Bambi inside Cove Woods, as Bob watched their backs. After they walked a considerable distance, he fell down on the spot, unable to stand up anymore. Shit he felt like he wanted to shit his pants.
As Cleo and Bambi walked through the town, Bambi couldn't help but observe the surroundings. He saw that Cove Woods looked like one of those small mid-western towns he used to visit before the meteor struck. It was a town that time seemed to have forgotten, with its old-fashioned wooden buildings and cobblestone streets. The town was surrounded by lush greenery and a river flowed nearby, providing the town with a steady supply of fresh water.
He noticed how everyone did their own thing, and surprisingly enough, that included the Omegas too. But regardless of which, the Betas, Omegas and basically everyone bowed or nodded in Cleo's direction as a sign of respect for their alpha with a grateful smile on their face.
She really wasn’t lying about saving them after all.
After walking through the town square, Cleo took Bambi to meet her daughter. They walked up a ramp that led to a generously sized house, which Cleo liked to call the 'Mayor's House.' Bambi could see that the house was surrounded by a small garden, some parts of which yielded crops while others didn't. He also noticed a large number of broken things dumped outside the house, next to the gardens, labeled as 'Research Failures.'
Cleo noticed Bambi's curious gaze and explained, “Those are my daughter's inventions. She's a brilliant young girl, even before the meteor struck. She’s also the reason why this town grew so fast.”
Cleo’s tone sounded stoic for a while, “She takes after my previous husband.”
“Oh, previous? What happened?” Bambi asked. He was intrigued and asked what happened to her daughter's father.
“He died.” Cleo replied, tone-less.
Bambi stayed quiet. He didn’t know what to say, but he did know that the best thing he could say was to not say anything at all.
For a few seconds that they walked up to the door, Bambi grew even more curious about Cleo, and her family before they reached the door of the cozy cabin-house. Cleo opened the door to reveal the warm and inviting interiors. Bambi could see that the house was well-furnished and had a homely feel to it. There were apparently two floors to this place, a living room with pelted rugs on the floor, a fireplace in the center, a dining room a room away, and a room that was labelled ‘Keep Away’. Yeah, he didn’t want to imagine what went on in that room.
“My daughter’s room is upstairs,” Cleo said.
Bambi nodded and followed her, but from the corner of his eyes, he could see a picture of Cleo, her presumably previous husband who was a brunette, and their baby daughter, held in the arms of Cleo as she smiled weakly in the hospital bed.
As they walked up the stairs to the second floor, Bambi saw a flash of gold run past his face, and a rather foul stench in the air.
He heard Cleo sigh another time, as they both turned to look at the mess that she had made of the living space, with a number of books, torn up paper, pens, and the like trashed around. But even in the midst of the chaos, he could see the genius of a young mind at work.
“Alex dear, what did I tell you about making a mess?” Cleo just shook her head.
A golden flash passed by.
“Dear, I have someone I want you to meet.”
Another golden flash passed by.
“He’s someone that I think will help you a lot.”
Bambi just raised an eyebrow, as he saw yet again, another golden flash. Cleo looked like she had enough before she snapped her fingers, and a barrier popped into existence.
“Oof!”
And for the first time since she ran around, Bambi could finally get a good look at Cleo's daughter, Alexandria. He hadn’t been sure what to expect but he definitely wasn’t expecting a nearly exact look-alike of Cleo. She looked up as they approached, and Bambi was struck by her beauty. She had Cleo's strong features but with a softer, youthful touch.
She sniffed the air, tilted her head as she stared at Bambi with the same concerning stare that Cleo did to him. Like mother, like daughter after all.
Before she smiled brightly. Okay maybe this was something she inherited from her father.
“Hi there!” The genius speedster showed her pearly whites. “I’m Alexandria! I’ve never met a male Omega before, so this is going to be realllllllllllllly interesting.”
