Chapter 153: Tournament Arc: The Oblivious But Overpowered Elf (5)

"Now, Amelia, I want you to sense the spirits around us," Willow continued, his voice soothing. "How many of them do you feel? Can you sense their presence?"

Amelia took a moment to attune herself to the spiritual energy surrounding them. As she reached out with her senses, she felt a multitude of spirits, their ethereal presence enveloping her. "There are so many, Willow," she replied, a hint of awe in her voice. "I can sense them all around us."

A smile tugged at the corners of Willow's lips as he nodded. "That's wonderful, Amelia. Now, let's start with something simple. Imagine a waterball forming in your palms, just like you've done before."

Amelia concentrated, visualizing the waterball taking shape within her hands. As she focused, a small sphere of water materialized, hovering above her palms. It was a modest start, but Willow encouraged her to push further.

"Now, Amelia, I want you to make that waterball bigger, but remember to control it," Willow instructed, his voice steady. "You can do this. Trust in yourself and the support of the spirits."

Amelia's brow furrowed in concentration as she poured her energy into the waterball, gradually expanding its size. However, her efforts reached a limit, and the waterball dispersed, leaving her feeling frustrated.

Frustration welled up within her, threatening to dampen her spirits.  "I... I can't make it any bigger," Amelia admitted, her voice tinged with disappointment.

Sensing her struggle, Willow offered words of comfort, his voice soothing.

Willow placed a calming hand on her shoulder, his voice soothing. "It's alright, Amelia. Let's try again, but this time, I want you to close your eyes and focus solely on my voice. Block out everything else."

Following Willow's guidance, Amelia closed her eyes, shutting out the external distractions. She listened intently to his voice, finding solace and trust in his words. Willow began channeling his energy, intertwining it with his own spiritual essence.

Drawing from his gaming experience, Willow utilized a trick he had learned, a solution to a similar problem faced by an elven king with a damaged mana pool. As Amelia conjured up the waterball once more, Willow focused his energy, using a combination of [Heal], [Purify], and his own Chi to seamlessly mend the cracks in her mana pool.

Amelia felt a soothing warmth wash over her, as if her very being was being healed and restored. The waterball in her hands started to grow, gradually expanding in size. With each passing moment, she could sense the flow of energy becoming stronger and more harmonious.

As Amelia conjured up the waterball once more, Willow's healing magic intermingled with her mana, repairing the damaged pathways. The gentle flow of energy revitalized her, and she felt a newfound sense of balance and control.

Opening her eyes, Amelia marveled at the sight before her. The waterball had transformed into a sizable sphere, swirling with vibrant hues. She felt a surge of joy and accomplishment, realizing that she had overcome the limitations that once held her back.

Willow's eyes widened with a mix of surprise and curiosity as he observed the transformation. He had expected to find a curse hindering Amelia's abilities, but to his amazement, there was no curse to heal from. Instead, it seemed to be a mental restriction she had placed upon herself, one that was now shattered.

Amelia's gaze met Willow's, gratitude and awe reflected in her eyes. "Willow... I did it! I can feel the connection with the spirits again. It's stronger than ever."

Willow smiled, a sense of fulfillment washing over him. "I knew you could, Amelia. But. . . .I don't think this is it for you yet."

Buoyed by this unexpected breakthrough, Willow decided to push her further. "Amelia, let's try something different. Conjure up a fireball along with the waterball but focus more on the fireball, visualize it, feel its warmth and intensity. I'll assist you."

Willow shook himself of [Chi], and instead focused most of his prana reserves into [Purify], as he invoked the skill onto Amelia, as he tried to feel why, what, who and how she even got cursed in the first place.

Amelia nodded, her determination matching his own. She closed her eyes and concentrated, channeling her energy into summoning the elemental fire. Willow, on the other hand, centered himself, using his prana reserves to invoke the skill of [Purify] once again, aiming to understand the root cause of her curse and any lingering effects.

As Amelia conjured the fireball, a flickering sphere of fiery energy formed in her hands. The warmth radiated from it, and she could feel the raw power it represented. With Willow's assistance, the flames grew more vibrant, their intensity mirroring Amelia's growing connection with her own abilities.

He focused his prana reserves into the skill [Purify], allowing him to delve deeper into Amelia's past, seeking answers to the questions that lingered in his mind. As he invoked the skill, he extended his senses, trying to understand the nature of the supposed curse that had plagued her.

Amelia closed her eyes, summoning her inner strength as she visualized the fireball taking shape. She could feel the intense heat and energy pulsating within her, blending with the power of the spirits around her. With each passing moment, the fireball grew brighter and more vibrant but it was starting to get difficult.

Amelia's brow furrowed in concentration as she attempted to maintain control over the dual elements. The fireball burned brightly in her palms, while the waterball gently swirled nearby. The task of synchronizing both elements proved to be a challenging endeavor.

The strain of wielding two elements simultaneously began to take its toll on Amelia. Her hands trembled slightly, and beads of sweat formed on her forehead. Frustration crept into her mind as she struggled to maintain the delicate balance required for such a feat.

Sensing Amelia's growing frustration, Willow gently placed a hand on her arm, offering reassurance. "Amelia, I know it's difficult, but you're so close. Keep going," he encouraged, his voice filled with unwavering support. "I'm almost certain I've discovered the root cause of what's been holding you back."
