[Salvos] 681. The Only Solution (Removed for KU)

(Removed for KU)

I don't know, it looks to me like the scene has been set for the return of Salvos, I just don't know how she can make it in time. I mean, sure, she can cut a portal into her lair from the world of her mind, It's just that she has her hands full at the moment with Regnorex and his minions, and he's actually the bigger threat, but the Matriarch is directly threatening her companions so that's a definite priority. I don't see how that's going to be resolved, but that's why I'm here. :)

Spirit lord vs Matriarch, this gonna be like Godzilla vs Kong let's goo

Let's not forget that Clayton must be under quite a bit of emotional trauma, because, for all he knows, Salvos is dead, and he thinks it's his fault. He failed to understand the true nature of the sacrificial ritual in time, he sent Salvos to stop Levithus, which is quite a deadly task on its own, and she was quite a bit worse for the wear afterwards, and then she came up with a solution to the situation he caused, and transported herself to the Regnorex's side of the portal, and Clayton is a realist, he thinks she most likely got killed there, tired and injured as she was. For all his stoic demeanour, it is obvious that he admired her greatly, and thought she's the most talented and bravest person he ever met, and probably the greatest talent since the heroes of old, demon or not; she gave him the breastplate of Alexander and the tools to fix it and level up, and he understands she's no ordinary demon; she's most likely a refugee, and a very heroic one, who kept helping mankind and saving everyone, whether it's a human child, a sapient centinel or baby wyverns. He thinks her life is on him, and now he's about to lose another one, and someone Salvos entrusted him with, and there's not a damn thing he can do about it.

Another interesting chapter building up to the cataclysmic destruction of the human lands! Soon the most reasonable solution for the humans, cyclopses, dwarves, Beastmen and Kobolds (the peaceful folks) will be for Salvos and The Beast to create a domain in the Netherworld and shelter them there, leaving the mortal realm as a battleground between Centinels, Demons, Elves, Spirits(?), warmongering Kobolds and the Vaun Qier Empire. After Reggie's plan, the Netherworld will be a lot more peaceful after all.

Dragonmaster_42

That will be quite funny: Clayton and Edithe form a contract with the Spirit Lord and when he arrives, he realizes that he's in over his head. Will he die for the contract and abandon his plans against the corruption? Will he break the contract and loose title powers needed for said plan? Will he ask the Fairy Queen who might also not be sure to win?

Dragonmaster_42

I'm certain the Kobolds will get involved at some point or it just won't be a complete shit show. :)

Danijel Turina

But she seems reasonable to the degree that she didn't attack Salvos and Samuel on sight but only demanded to kill Salvos after her holiday in the bloodied gulf.

Dragonmaster_42

So we have Sal at corruption, Salvos at the gates, Demon King in his castle, Spirit queen in her domain, Daniel in traing and elves around, and Mavis Academy under siege. Now spirits enter the stage. Kobolds seem to be a bit on the sidelines.

Eve: Second! Cain: Third! Abel: Don't you guys have anything better to do? Cain: Well actually (picks up rock)...

Danijel Turina

There is one problem with the assumption that the Matriarch Centinel isn't reasonable: let's assume Centina gives herself up and is killed. Then Matriarch says, "good, now kill the rest". Basically, giving herself up is in itself an appeal to reason.

Danijel Turina

Seems unlikely, isn't he off fighting the corruption? Would be kinda deus ex machina to have him show up now

Matthew Brubacher

I would rather hope that Samuel figures out what's going on and cleans up his mess. After all, he's the one who initiated the chain of events that led to the current predicament, by dropping Salvos into the Bloodied Gulf and telling her to do whatever. Since he's now supposedly back to his responsible self, that might be a responsible thing to do.

Danijel Turina

Primordial level fight above the academy? Sure, what could possibly go wrong

Atsuke

Man, having so many factions messing around in the mortal realm seems quite FUN™. I think we're up to six sides now in this continent sized thunderdome? Also, I genuinely did not expect Edithe to bring up the big dude whose rule she personally spurned. I wonder how she's going to pull that off. This is getting quite interesting.
