Chapter 4
Kashyyyk/Vawrrawn
Night
It was finally night and it was time to visit my good friends the wookiees. I used telekinesis to float and land without sounds amongst the tree branches and sliding Tarzan style on the tree limbs covered in moss and reached the lower level where the wookies camped. Smiling, I looked as the wookiees were huddled around a fire with sentries around the platform. I sensed one in a branch over the troop carrier they had come in.
My goal was simple: I couldn't speak the wookiee language and I didn't know when I was in the timeline of this galaxy. I sure hoped I was in the old republic era… where I could be chill about everything and let Revan do his job of saving the galaxy.
After infiltrating the camp thanks to the white currents shielding me, I found a female wookiee sleeping in the troop transport. She was really cute and snored a lot with her bowcaster in her hands; those people seemed to be from the army or something. Without a sound, I touched the female wookie's head and accessed her mind, parsing through her immediate memories first. From what I could glean from the wookiee's mind, those people were scouts from another tree home from the Wawaatt Archipelago called Kachirho.
The leader of their tree home, a tree carer named Tikli, who is also force sensitive and could speak to Wroshyr trees, heard about my tree home from the biological network of the planet. Oh yeah, didn't I speak about that before? The trees and plant life of Kashyyyk have formed electrochemical connections between their roots and effectively act as neurons. Nature at work, everyone!
I learned several things from this female wookiee, first her name was Mopua, she was forty five years old, that was rather young for a wookiee; second thing I took from the Mopua was Shyriiwook, also known as Wookieespeak. It made me laugh as I now understood that the whole point about the language was to make it difficult for outsiders to understand.
Third, it was the customs, physical and social cues that I downloaded from her mind. And for last, I downloaded the general knowledge of the era we were in and my conclusion were that I was fucked, but not totally as I had a lot of time to prepare before Palpatine's rise. Thirty-one years give or take, something told me that I was placed there to stop some of the Siths plans before they could come to fruition.
I remember my big brother debating on the Discord vocal chat about how the Battle of Galidraan spelled doom for the republic and the start of the current iteration of the Jedi decline. I needed to save the True Mandalorian movement from being slaughtered. Letting go of Mopua’s head, I covered myself in the comfortable embrace of the Force and white currents and disappeared from view. Mopua would wake up with a big migraine but it was better than nothing, if I was a Sith she would have been catatonic as the knowledge download would have been painful, but thanks to me suffusing her head with healing energy at the same time, she would only get a persistent headache for half a day.
With this, I left the wookie camps full of thoughts about the future…

(Scout Captain Erkituaa)
Next day
Vawrrawn
Level 4
Erkituaa was spooked, his behavior reflecting on everyone in the group as they were having breakfast. The wookiee looked around him periodically at any strange sound. He ate the fruit in his plate and when he was done addressed his team. “This isn’t natural.”
Mopua, who kept massaging her head, asked with a tired tone in her voice, “What is, Sir?” Then she sat on a fallen burned branch and took a water canteen at her belt.
Everyone looked at captain Erkituaa who explained, “We were not attacked last night or how silent this level has become. Do you hear any birds or see any insects?”
The young scouts were now listening to their surroundings and finally realized what Erkituaa meant. The forest around them was eerily silent.
“Well… we pretty much torched the place, so it sounded normal to me that there's a lack of fauna.” the white furred Gwym said aloud.
He had been careful not to direct the fire of the plasmathrower toward the tree, but he had seen all the benign little critters living in the fifth level scurry away from the platforms and tunnels. The others nodded or acquiesced to Gwim's words.
The Captain, though, wasn't to be swayed by the opinion of his young squad. "But nature persists, and always takes back what's hers. Life goes on even after a little fire."
After their breakfast, the contingent rearmed themselves and decided to look for a way to climb to the seventh level. They deployed drones to map their current location; it wasn't a fruitless endeavor as they discovered three more accesses to the superior level through the hollowed part of the tree. As they moved through the wooden caves, the wookies started to eliminate large carnivorous plants known as spiked vine plants and Syren; then harvested them. Those two plants played a crucial role in the coming of age rituals for various Wookiee tribes. Both of these plants were capable of consuming adolescent Wookiees or fully grown Humans.
On Kashyyyk, most other flora was parasitic to the Wroshyr trees, they grew in dirt pockets, in the crevices of the trees, or were carnivorous. Some of the scouts were full of smiles as they noted all the wild natural resources of Vawrrawn; for example, they saw some wild vegetables all over the fifth level, one of them was Chyntuck, a species of onion-like vegetable used for food.
They climbed toward one of the access stairs leading to the superior level of the tree in silence when they started to notice the noises of the fauna in the background. "Did you hear that?"
The birds had returned but an eerie trembling disturbed Erkituaa. "The animals are back."
"I am not the only one feeling like we're being observed, right?" Gwym said as he readied his bowcaster.
Erkituaa said as he did the same as his junior scout. "No. Be on your-"
A thick green vine wrapped around one of the wookie and snatched him away from the group. "Waaaargh!"
Ten other vines appeared snaking through the air to catch more of the scouts. An apocalyptic number of Can-cell, Daubird and Shyyyo birds swarmed them and darkened the skies, still they didn't fire at any of them.
"Run!" Erkituaa commanded.
Erkituaa still shouted at the scout who got caught to free himself with a blade. His other scout obviously found shelter inside the facilities, while he went to free his subordinate, but he was caught by one vine as well. Erkituaa heard the roar of his companions who had sought shelter and he despaired.
He felt himself being moved by the solid vine, fortunately for him, he still held onto his weapon. Once he wasn't blinded by the cloud of birds and insects, the old wookie found himself being plopped on a platform. His scouts were at his side, shell-shocked by what happened to them.
Something even more extraordinary happened as they saw a little humanoid child standing before them and wearing a bright blue sash over her chest covering ratty and damaged clothes who had seen better days. She had a long red mane of hair, golden eyes and a belt with a big serrated knife. She had no shoes and looked as wild as a Blastail.
"Wyaaaaaa. Wooo hwa hwa? (Hello. Nice weather, eh?)" The really young human-like child said in a heavily accented Wookieespeak.

Another perk gained, and a ECM-598 which was an all-purpose emergency medical kit, containing a wide array of medical devices and medicines. It was nicely stored in my warehouse. That was fine, I was now a certified medical with all the training it entailed. I stopped before the wookie that my Home tree had gathered for me.
Oh yeah, I've been using the tree and animals to bring the wookies to me, they all looked rather spooked. Good. I don't suffer intruders lightly in my domain. I glared at each of the wookies, I knew all of them by name already thanks to Mopua’s memories, I saw her at Erkituaa's side, looking at me in bewilderment.
"So what are you doing in my Home without invitation?" Speaking Shyriiwook was difficult to me, the language consisted of growling and howls, and thus was difficult for anyone not a Wookiee to speak or learn and was also rough on their throat. I kept a constant healing stream on my throat as I spoke the alien language.
While everyone was shocked, Erkituaa was the first to speak, ignoring my question by asking, "Who are you? Are you the one who brought us here?"
"My name is Destiny, the carer of this humble tree. Yes, I asked the tree to bring you to me." I said as I massaged my voice.
I really needed to teach myself Galactic Basic, the most prevalent language in the galaxy. While I was musing on what I should learn to survive and make my life easier, the wookies began to discuss between themselves, not even caring that I could hear them. It went like this:
"She is too young! She can't be the carer!"
"Is she all alone here?"
The leader Erkituaa stood up and stopped before me, towering over me so much that I had to raise my head to look him into the eyes. "My name is Erkituaa, little pup. Where are your parents, child? Are you alone?" He said with a comforting tone.
*Aww he is cute and fluffy.* I thought as I looked at the well groomed brown fur covering the wookie.
I shook my head negatively. "I'm never alone, the Force and the tree are with me."
My home tree seemed to like my answer as I felt it as it suffused me with approval in our telepathic link; same for the Force, who gave me a mental thumbs up.
Erkituaa stepped back and asked, "Are you a Jedi? A lost youngling of theirs? You talk like them."
"What's a Jedi?" I feigned ignorance.
So, you see, I decided to play the wild kid ignorant about mundane things and common knowledge. It wasn't even lying, I didn't know much about how the civilizations of the galaxy far away worked, I didn't even have any of their common sense.
At that, all the other wookies behind Erkituaa began to speak between them in whispers, or at least what counted as whispers in their language. Too bad for them that I felt their intentions, they wanted to ‘protect me’ and bring me to civilization. The Force sent me a warning about that and to avoid capture at all cost to not be inducted in the Jedi Order or worse get taken by the Sith led by Darth Plagueis.
The white-furred wookie I know by the name of Gwim walked up to and asked Erkituaa. “Sir, could we discuss something with you?”
The white wookie eyed me with the disdain reserved to kids who annoy adults. This action made me frown, so I focused my telepathic and empathic abilities on the group and immediately went on my guard. When they finished speaking five minutes later, the leader Erkituaa came back to me and said, "Little pup, as you're alone we decided that we should bring you to our home city…"
The tree sent a pulse of displeasure to me and the force screamed at me to prepare for a fight. I shook my head and looked into the eyes of the big Wookie. "No. This is my home. The home tree counts on me."
The wookies started to surround me at my refusal, but I decided to not let them do that and punted one into the wall of a wooden house with my telekinesis.
"Jedi!" Erkituaa roared.
I discovered how fast a wookie could be when they all tried to dogpile me at the same time, forcing me to do a force jump and somersault in the air and launching a telekinetic blast in the middle of the wookiee pile. It caused all the wookiees to scatter either because they dodged the blast through instinct or were hit by it.
Landing on the ground creating an area of effect that cushioned my fall and propelled bits of wood from the platform on the wookies.
"You're not welcome here anymore, leave." I roared.
It seems that they were still unafraid, the white furred wookiee, the white furred wookiee threw himself at me only to be batted away like a fly. My precognition warned me that another wookiee had slipped behind me and was about to catch me, forcing me to roll on the right; another wookiee charged, missing me by a breadth as I crouched down and used the Force to propel myself in the center of the platform. It was Mopua who ended up rolling on the ground and crouching on the ground.
“Tenacious little pup! Give up!” Mopua, the female wookiee roared.
I laughed and avoided three wookies that attacked in tandem when I felt something bite me in the back of my neck. Reaching out for the spot, I pulled something and looked at it. A dart with… suddenly I felt very weak and went on my knees. My eyes fell on Mopua who had a blowgun in her hand. My vision darkened and I fell face first on the ground.

Location: ???
I opened my eyes to a metallic gray ceiling. Sitting up abruptly I felt heavy and my right arm hurt a lot. I looked at how it was bruised and swollen and a bit bent. Someone has broken my arm. This caused me to cry because of how much pain I was in. I stopped moving my arm then looked at my feet, there was an ankle restraint attached with a chain linked to the wall behind me.
I didn't need to be a genius to understand that I've been captured as I looked at the metal box with bars I was in; I was angry at me and at the wookiees, but mainly at me for being so overconfident and complacent. Just because I had the Force, I thought I was invincible, but I wasn't, at least not yet. Let's review what my mistakes were…
My lack of physical power and how strong, fast and resilient the wookiees were created a situation where they took me out by swarming me and using teamwork. I really underestimated them because I took them by surprise with the tree, the animals and my pyrokinesis. I wasn’t a genius at strategizing or anything but I should have made the wookiees leave without meeting them.
Moving my broken arm, it painfully sent waves of pain that made me moan in agony; I looked before me, and spread my senses to feel around my cell. What I have found is that I wasn’t the only one here; there were some humans, other species I couldn’t name and a wookiee that sounded kind of feral. The wookiee kept scratching the walls of his cells with his claws. Oh! There were some guards as well, they patrolled the cell block.
They were all speaking basic, it was as if someone had mixed English and French and some other languages; I could generally understand what they meant, but I couldn’t speak it. Needed to work on that.
But before any of that, I need to heal my arm. Thanks to the medic training I received earlier, I looked at my broken limb and with a little exertion of my will, used my telekinesis to set the bone in my arm. "FUCK!!! That hurt!!!
*I will kill whoever did that to me, I swear.*
I held onto my arm, and screamed in pain; attracting the attention of some of my wookiee guards who came looking at me through the bars. Ignoring them I decided to enter a healing meditation. I had to let go of the white currents protecting me, I can't use the two abilities at the same time. The force told me that this was a bad idea, that I was hidden through them. But I couldn't hold onto my telekinetic splint and cover myself with the stealth field hiding my force presence and heal my broken arm.
I knew my limits…
The Force relented and decided to help me a bit later from what I could interpret from it. It has never led me astray yet.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
I let go of the cloak of the white currents and immersed myself into the embrace of the Force, reaching inside my body, beyond the pain; but it was difficult. The force soothed the agony I felt and at the same time knit my bones and mended my flesh.

Erkituaa was mad! What was a youngling doing in a cell? A wounded one also, caused by one of his Scouts even. The pup had no business being there. *Banta poodoo! Has my old friend's head gotten full of Kreetle larva that were now eating his brain?*
Vot passed a hand into head's hair and looked outside the window, looking at a shyyyo bird passing, a clear sign that something was afoot as more and more sightings of them had been detected since the girl arrived.
It had been surreal to see the scout captain and two of his subordinates in the sorry state they were in, come in with a unconscious near-human pup shorter than any wookie child on a stretcher and ask Vot to hold onto her while Erkituaa got a meeting with Tree Carer Tikli. Vot didn't think that Tikli would be happy with their actions. Fortunately, he had placed her in the cell block with the least dangerous people, just drunks and people who have caused some bar fights; though he was worried about that black furred Wookiee who scratched at the wall of his cell.
Just in case, Vot exited his office and took his key and blades, sheathing them at his side and was about to open the door to go check on the Red maned girl when the door to his office opened and a freaked out female wookiee entered and roared, "Sir! Come see this! It's the red maned pup!" She had brown fur and a silver harness showing her status as a guard.
"What happened? Did her condition worsen?" He growled back.
"I'm not sure, Sir. I need you to come." The female guard said a bit uncertain.
And follow her he did. He wished now that he hadn't, as the red maned girl was levitating cross legged in her cell with her eyes closed and surrounded by a golden light that was a bit blinding.
Vot could scarcely believe what he was seeing, that kind of spooky supernatural events happening before him was always spoken in stories in cantina after a good drink, but he would never have guessed that he would be witness to a little pup playing with the force. "So that's why he brought her here, she's some kind of Jedi pup."
"What do we do, Sir?" The female guard asked as she looked at the little pup.
"We wait for Tree Carer Tikli and Captain Erkituaa." Vot growled in annoyance, and cursed Erkituaa's name in his thoughts.
