Chapter 2
1 week later
Sixth level of the White Wroshyr Tree
I held onto my solid wooden spear made with a fallen branch of the tree I was now living on. My spear was five foot long, to make it as good as it was, I fire-hardened the tip with my newfound pyrokinetic powers granted by the force and then sharpened it with a rough rock. You know, making a fire with flint rocks and dead leaves was hard… But miraculously when I needed it the most, I produced fire from my fingertips. This was the first manifestation of my force powers; but I knew that the force was sentient and said thank you when it happened. Since then telepathy and telekinesis have come to me rather easily. It was just a matter of focus and willpower. With the force, I could lift little stuff or like Connor Kent in Superboy ‘augment’ my physical attribute with it. It’s great for jumping or doing parkour on the platforms and tree branches, Tarzan style.
From the books in my brother's library and the Wookiepedia on the Internet that I’ve read, I remembered that The Force was an energy field created by all life that connected everything in the universe. It was mind-blowing and fun that I was a force user, but I didn’t want to abuse the Force, bothering it for petty stuff wasn’t good. I mean, if I was it I wouldn’t want to be bothered by those pesky force users all the time. So I didn’t grow dependent on it, I had better things to do, like looking for food.
The day after I arrived, I discovered that there was a part of the tree full of bushes and fruit trees growing out of some kind of hanging garden. When I was about to pick an orange lookalike fruit a foreboding feeling had raised in my heart. After multiple tries, I surmised that the force was informing me of the danger and that this fruit was toxic or poisonous to me. This was my first brush with precognition. Since then, I listened to the force and learned to avoid some of the creatures on Kashyyyk that roamed the upper levels of the forest.
The force always informed me to stay well away from the predatory felines with orange mottled fur and long stripes or spots on their fur and a fuzzy bulb on their tail; there was also the fucking big grey-white spiders that ate some of the birds, they were venomous and spinned their webs everywhere. I took great pleasure in burning the spider and the webs from my home and the first level of the trunk city with pyrokinesis.
This place was freaking huge, sometimes I get lost just by going down the platforms or using the tunnels inside the tree. It’s where I was right now, in a tunnel open to the sky; some ruminant animal was eating in one of my garden of fruit trees, mowing the grass. It looked like a goat but it was bigger and more muscular like a wildebeest. As I observed it, plans to add some meat in my diet were churning.
In the highest house on the white tree, I found that the place still had energy because it was fed by solar panels. Everything worked, electricity, and running water, even the appliances. The thing is that I had to dust and clean the entire place with the remains of the rags that were curtains in the past. After taking an entire day to clean the place, I made myself a bed from one of the discarded leaves of the tree, and discovered that they were comfier than my bed in my original universe.
I digress, now, I was saying that the appliances in my new house worked; the fridge/stasis appliance was disgusting to clean but I got it working, then there was the food processor! It kept things fresh and there was the stasis mode to keep things from deteriorating with time. This has been a boon with the safe and delicious fruits I had picked over the week that I’ve been here. I could place a fruit in the food processor and it could make edible ration cubes of the fruits and water I placed in it.
Now I wanted to test this with meat. So, sorry poor goat creature, but I want meat, I’m a growing girl! I lined up my shot and visualized myself hitting the goat-thing with the force in its skull. Intent plus willpower plus imagination; I decided to treat it like magic for now. I threw the spear with all my might and… it hurled directly toward my target and hit it in the back of its skull. The creature fell dead on the spot.
“Yes!” I shouted as I ran toward my fallen prey.
When I reached it, it was twitching on the ground; looking around me, I was on my guard, there might be other predators who would attack me and steal my prey. So far nothing happened, so I pulled the dead beast toward home with my force augmented arms.
“Guess who is eating steak tonight?” I laughed to myself.

Power Buy Attempt Holocron Crafting Station (Star Wars The Old Republic) (300) -50% (150). Not Bought. Banked 200 points.
I ignored the completely random message and darkening of my surroundings that signaled the Celestial Forge trying to buy something. It’s been a month, and besides my force powers that I was training all the time by spreading my telepathic awareness around me, nothing major happened. Oh yeah! I was a real telepath now and I could feel that everything around me was alive, the insects, the animals and… the plants. The tree I lived on was completely sentient, that had surprised me; it was in a dream that I was contacted by it. The tree didn’t speak with words but with memories and feelings that could be attributed to nature; it used the image of the wind breezing through its leaves, the insects flying around or the singing of the colorful birds to speak and emote.
The tree wanted me to help it heal. It showed me images of the animals that I had to kill; I suddenly felt like a hitman, it was fun. In reward, the tree promised to teach me what was edible and could be cultivated if I protected it. So I killed a lot of those gray-white spiders, or flame beetles. Flame beetles are fucking annoying, their bite was painful, but that wasn’t what was dangerous! It was their ability to spontaneously combust. I saw a swarm of them exploding like a live grenade, no wonder the Tree wanted me to kill them. Fortunately, I didn’t have to fight them, just drive them out. The tree had shown me in its memories how Wookiees used simple smoke pots to make them leave. It was the first time I had seen the denizens of the planet, they looked fluffy.
My most hated enemies so far were those thrice damned giant brown slugs that lived in the branches of the tree. Those slugs hunted the useful animals that protected the tree and made it healthy. They were highly resistant to blunt force, so the dull blade of the sword that I had found in my house couldn’t even dent or pierce them.
When I found the first slug, it was drooling before me and looked super disgusting, despite myself, I went murder happy and all ‘Quick Kill it with fire’ on the slug army infecting my tree home. It was night when I burned the last of them that the tree showed me. It wasn’t simple, the fuckers camouflaged against the tree.
I had to kill the babies as well, I didn’t feel anything when I did it. They were ambush predators that hung from the tree branches, waiting to fall upon prey below. And when they did, they wrapped their body around their prey to smother them and let out digestive juices to dissolve them to finally eat them. This must be a painful death.
At night, I found myself being shown the places on the tree that were damaged and the tree asked me to please heal it. This wasn’t easy as well, I could already lift little objects, and set things on fire. But this was high level stuff, healing seemed to be a force power that was beyond me. That was how I found myself at the tip of the tree, healing its branches. This wiped me out each time I helped the tree heal; I say heal but what was happening before my eyes was more like a seal. It seems that trees attempt to close wounds by sealing or compartmentalizing the affected area by forming specialized “callus” tissue around the edges of the wound.
If one thing came out from this task is that the white tree taught me how to recover faster by meditating and absorbing the force energy around me; I imagined myself generating a whirlpool and sucked in the energy, using my body as a filter to refine the force I was siphoning. Each time I felt myself revitalized! I could do this ten times a day and incidentally… I raised my healing skills like that.

Atop Destiny’s house
I almost died one month ago and it had rattled me; this had all been fun and games on this new planet so far, but coming to terms with how dangerous this universe could be had been an experience. I remembered that that day had started well, but it ended in tears.
I found the solar panels on the roof of my house and started cleaning them with hydrokinesis, water from the atmosphere. By using imagination plus intent I was basically power washing the panels. A really dark cludge had been covering the transparent photovoltaic film covering the roof; this galaxy’s technology was built to last I had thought.
While I was busying myself, the force screamed something at me and to throw myself on the right. I obeyed instantly. I heard a huge crash and then I saw a monstrous creature standing where I’d been cleaning the panels. It had a body covered in brown and green hair, with an elongated head, pointed snout, powerful jaws containing sharp grinding teeth; six legs, four toed feet with razor sharp claws.
The creature looked vicious and terrifying. It jumped at me and grazed my upper arms despite the fact that I had evaded it. It was scary fast. Glaring at it, I threw two fireballs at it to burn it alive but the creature avoided them by moving in a zigzag pattern and charged me. It was about to reach me when I began seeing double, there were two superimposed images, the one on the left where my perceptions were slowed down and the one on the right where I was stabbed in the heart and bitten on the neck by the ugly brown and green creature.
As I saw my death, anger and fear welled up in me; I released those pent up feelings with a cry as I wanted this creature dead and destroyed. “Aaaahhh!”
The superimposed vision popped like a bubble and a field of force surrounded me and expanded outward with great power. As it hit the creature, it disintegrated into ashes. I fell on my ass, looking at where the disformed monster was and said, “The hell happened?”
No one answered me as I started crying in relief at being alive.
This is how I remembered this, somehow I went Starkiller on that weird monster and used more telekinesis than I thought I could handle and killed the weird six limbed thing. Since then I started working on meditation and telekinesis. I used the fabricator to make metal balls that I always had orbiting around me in the background to train my control. I didn’t want to disintegrate anything important.

2 months after pulling a Starkiller
Platform leading to the Sixth level of the tree
I was floating in a lotus position, each of my feet was placed on the opposite thigh. The platform I was on was one I recently liberated from a swarm of large spiders that I’ve been hunting for a while. They were disgusting, as they were capable of launching webs at me from their mandibles. Still, I burned them to kingdom come with pyrokinesis and destroyed their eggs. Now I was recuperating and meditating at the same time.
Power Buy Attempt Computers (Star Wars KOTOR) (200CP) -50% (100). Bought. Banked 100 points.
Ah, the message finally appeared, and finally I bought something! “Waah, now I know how all those computers in my house work.”
In my previous life, I knew how to use computers thanks to my big brother, but I didn’t know how they worked. It seemed that in this life, this would be different. Now, I know that a computer consists of an input system, a processor to accomplish tasks, and an output to relay information or commands. A computer generally used complex mathematics to run varying protocols, such as numerical calculations, synchronous communication (with encryption), sensor interpretation and coordination, even the complex systems of artificial life-forms, such as droids, built around an artificial intelligence did it.
One thing was sure, computers from Star Wars were vastly superior to the ones from Earth in the 21st century from the knowledge implanted in my mind. There was so much potential there, but it was squandered by superfluous stuff, hmm. “Oooh that’s good. I can read the language now?”
I noticed this by reading a really faded sign on the platform; I was on platform eleven of the sixth level of the Home Tree named Vawrrawn. I had a hard time pronouncing it. Stopping my meditation, I quickly decided to put my new skills to the test. Landing on the platform, I stood up and walked to the stairs leading to the first level of the apparently well named “Home tree.”
As I climbed the stairs, I contemplated what I’ve been doing lately; it has been two months since my first brush with death in my new life. The force hadn’t liked how I almost died the last time; since then, my dreams have been visited by strange visions of other force users doing training in telekinesis and other force powers. It even used the Home Tree to teach me how to be one with nature and one with the force; thanks to this training, I started to be able to sense sentient beings from the ripples they made in the energy field. So yeah, I wasn’t taken by surprise anymore and I think there was even more to this technique that I didn’t know, but so far it helped me blend in and cloak my presence from the animals.
I arrived on the platform where my house was and ran to it. The boarded windows were fully visible, I still needed to find a way to stop spiders and other insects from entering my house, maybe I will find a way to protect it from pests soon enough. I lifted the big stone that I'd placed before the door; It serves as training as well, to lift big stuff. Like Yoda had said in the movies, the weight doesn’t matter, your willpower must be stronger and I believed that matter was just a form of energy, and the force is the manipulation of it.
When one of those poisonous felines tried to enter my house one week ago, I placed the stone there and boarded the windows, despite how hot it was. The house was basically a big circle around the tree trunk that was part of it, as if it had grown like that. The tree was partly hollowed out….
Firmly locking the door, I strode toward the computer room. As I passed each room, the lights came on; since I cleaned the solar panels, more energy was available and the lighting system had come back in full.
I entered a dome-like room with what I now recognized as servers and a holo-tank, it projected three-dimensional visual projections of an object or data. There was a terminal connected to it that was the mix of a desk with multiple touch-screens embedded in the wall next to it. This was a computer workstation. Before turning on the computer, I found myself looking at its side and crouched before a panel; I used telekinesis to unscrew said panel and looked inside. It was completely dusty, so I did what I did best since I arrived here and disassembled the parts inside one by one and began using the force to gather the dust in a ball with my will.
The knowledge I now possessed was guiding me and telling me that it’s bad that the workstation didn’t operate for such a longtime; sure, the systems and hardware was more advanced than those on earth but the circuit can lose its electrical charge, and lose all the data on it. Fortunately for me, the capacitor and the battery were alive in the workstation. This shit was built to last, wow. After putting everything back, I turned the workstation on, and the screen booted up. It was amazing that I could read the language now.
The computer asked me for the password, and I simply didn’t do that and went to the guest user account and began taking it over by finding the loopholes and glitches inside the OS and voila I made myself the administrator of the Workstation and set up my own passwords and voice pattern recognition. The Workstation made a lot of noise, a sure sign that it was really old.
Frowning, I saw that the computer detected an uplink to what I surmised was the planetary network. I just discovered the internet!

Mid Rim/Mytaranor sector
Kashyyyk system/Kashyyyk
Wawaatt Archipelago/Kachirho
She woke up suddenly after a vision shared by her home tree, Kachirho. She shook her head and tried to interpret what she saw. Tikli sat up from her leaf bed and passed a hand on her brown blond fur. Her Home tree had been passed on information about the fate of some other… Wroshyr tree. Tikli was suddenly more awake as she noticed the paleness of the trunk she had seen in her dream.
She got out of her bed and went to sit directly before her computer. As a Tree Carer, she had access to a lot of the planet’s digital infrastructure, looking for recent activities in the dense jungle of the planet.
Her tree had shown her a flash of red hair and blue sash. Someone was taking care of the white tree and seemed to protect it. But a member of her race with red fur? It shouldn’t be possible, unless it was a mutation. Tikli’s tree wouldn’t lie, she will find the white Wroshyr tree and have someone assist the one caring for it.
She wrote a note for a dispatch of the scout corps and decided to use the satellites in orbit, determined to find the illusive tree. White Wroshyr trees were precious and must be protected, there were not many left, this was an opportunity to obtain seeds and preserve the species.
Tikli didn’t know at the time that she was about to cause problems for her planet when she started this search. A lot of eyes were about to spy on Kashyyyk.

A/N: I made this chapter in the format of a diary, because it describes what Destiny did in the six months she spent on Kashyyyk. The MC doesn’t even realize how she’s being trained by the force while she’s in the wild.
