I've always been a little resistant to Shibari. A lot of people have wanted me to photograph it, like way too many times, and honestly I've had zero interest because I find the photos taken of it to be pretty cheesy and overdone, and I also tend to lose interest when something becomes very popular in a surface kind of way. But I've always known that I would actually really like to explore it.
I'm exploring a lot here in Hawaii, lol. So I was asked if I'd like to receive a Shibari experience and I said yes. They snapped some photos too, I edited them. Here they are :) Hope you enjoy.
Alsooo... I took a Shibari workshop a couple of days ago after this experience and learned how to tie myself up! And what I love is that you can create your own ties and then suspend yourself. It's very relatable to yoga, which is a huge part of my life so it's nice to see that connection. We're talking about creating and documenting a Elemental Shibari fashion show, haha stay tuned.
