Added 2023-10-20 21:05:14 +0000 UTCSo the other day, I made some fake blood and put it all over me and I thought maybe 15 minutes was enough time to capture something. I was in a rush before a friend was coming over but I was itching to create art of how I was feeling. I ended up only getting a couple shots that I kinda like, and then ended up having to go out stained with blood and temporary tattoos. I'm happy that it's October when it's a little more acceptable. I'm currently living in a super white uptight small town, so I'm used to a lot of weird looks. Anyways, I felt like sharing them and my process. Self portraits are hard. Sometimes I like it a lot and I'm so grateful I can self entertain and express, and sometimes it just makes me realize more and more how few creative playmates I have in this town, which is hard for me because it's my favorite way to connect with others.
What I originally wanted the bloody heart shoot to represent was the painful process of giving someone your heart and then they aren't ever around. Kind of a theme for me. It helped to attempt to make this art because part way through, I was literally like, Fuck this. I'm over this theme.
