Our development process

Since we're working on a roadmap, we thought now would be a good time to talk about our development process. Some of you might be interested to learn how the sausage is made.

Currently we have five people on our team: I'm creating content (text and rendering), next person translates Russian text to English, another edits rendered images into the final product, our programmer is responsible for the engine and servers, and last but least, my assistant helps me integrate dialogs and events into the game.

Every updates starts with a general plan: what we want to see in the game and what functionality we need to add into the engine to make it work (like, say, new locations or a minigame). Then I write down the list of events that might end up in the version. It's usually pretty big and sometimes we don't have the time to implement everything, so we prioritize.

If an update requires a new mechanic (like a poker minigame) or a change in the existing one, then the programmer starts working on it right after the planning.

That's also when I start working on the rendering. The whole thing usually takes around two weeks. The process is very unpredictable because posing can take from 30 minutes to several hours. And that's just the first step, before the rendering and the editing.

As the images finish rendering, I send them to the designer. Usually he's done with the editing by the time the rest of the update is done for the release. Sometimes we render and edit more images than we can put in the game and they get shelved till future updates. That's what happened in 0.12, for example. We had images for new events, but didn't have the time to implement them in the game before the deadline.

Once the rendering is done, I start writing dialogs and events. I usually do it in google docs. I also write the commentaries explaining what's going on along with the text. Once individual event/dialog files are done, I send them to the translator and my assistant starts implementing the texts into the game along with unedited images. Once all text is in the game, we start the most important part: writing all the code to make the whole thing work. What unlocks events and dialogs, what should happen in what order, NPC behavior, etc. By the time this step is done, all text is usually translated and all images edited. Everything gets combined into a "working" build and we start the testing.

Sometimes things don't work out the way we want. Last couple of times we had problems meeting the deadlines and we had to sacrifice some content. Thankfully, you approved the idea of a softer schedule. We still have our internal limits (we think every update should still be released in the same month for all our Patrons from $40 to $5). But now that it's not as rigid, we're not going to sacrifice a series of events just to save one day of development.

Now, about the roadmap. We're thinking of using Trello. If you want to recommend some alternatives, you can leave them in the comments and we'll check them out.

P.S.: And here's the link to the roadmap, where you can track our progress almost in real time.

Is it also planned to translate the game into German?

short question: why is "Lisa catching Max watching porn" partly finished in the linked Trello board, while "Max watching porn on TV" is still in the pipeline? (Or aren't the two events connected with each other?) Greetings

Come on guys! More content - more fun even it is illogical.

1nd I would like to know where the saves are stored so that you can save them when a new update comes and you are not always forced to play all new. 2nd I would like to know if it is planned to publish the game in German. 3nd The earning opportunities should be ready from the beginning so that you can start with the online training right away.

I guess the only key point is whether they accept voluntary translators or not, I don't think volunteers would be lacking.

Exactly my thoughts! The storyline with (ugly) Fedor doesn’t make sense. What the hell is she doing with him?

You need to get some one to incorporate the updates into the main game. The last three updates were just pasted on to the main game but did not seem part of it. ie: Kate worked for Max and Alice and never got paid. Kate started out with high interest in men stat 900+ even though her prior schooling did not allow her to interact with men. Kate has low interest in women 50- even though she has had sexual encounters with four women. Kate is to shy still to take gym or sun topless, even though she has paraded topless at the Villa. Kate does not pay rent to Julia even though Julia has been out of work since day one. " Julia must have quite a large savings account." Kate does home work and answers questions in Biology, Chemistry and History, however her school stats don't change. I thought Glamour was suppose to allow us direct how we wanted Kate to grow. The last two updates were for those who wanted to see Kate get fucked. The lesbian and Bi routs are lame we have to watch her get fucked to progress her into a Bi relationship. The whole thing about her paying rent to Fedor makes no sense except it is an excuse to get her fucked. I could see her staying with Virginia to take stripper lessons, which seem to go nowhere. But staying there so she can get fucked is stupid she can do that at home for free.

It is also possible to play the game in German Unfortunately, I do not speak fluent Russian or English, unfortunately I can only speak German, which I have already asked myself with my big brother. And since the school was already introduced by Alice in the big brother, I wonder, why you did not make the two games one? So you still have the opportunity to continue playing big brother. So you can then glamor as an extension for big brother games or as a stand-alone game.

gamers glory but ok it might takes few minutes sometimes maybe 20 minutes or less depends on pc power you working on but there are also many other factors of speed of production ... believe me it took me pretty long time to make a nice smooth 3dmodel on rhino3d ...ok DS got already complete models and assets clothing and other stuf for the animation work bu it still takes pretty long time to make a smooth animation frame after frame move hand here and there edit thi edit that .... inasne hard work ....

Pavol Hrnko

Hey, it's not really like that :)

Rendering takes time depends on the number of assets in scenes and the resolution of the render as 1920x1080 is less time than say a 4K image.

gamersglory

Clever move. - Project management after 15 months, yeah. Poor DS is rendering for 24 hours while some outsourced helpers have some action in the last week before release. I imagined so far. Stay healthy!

Hi guys. I'm just wondering, do you plan ahead that some images or layers for the event could be reused with other Main Character? How do you deal with testing - programmer test it on their own, other team tests or do you have beta-testers?

ddf

Its good to see that we have this progress report, so we have a live update where we can see a how is the next update, what and when can we expect. But this is not really a road map. This is a status or progress report, a road map or milestone would not be so detailed but it should show the core of next 4-5-6 updates ahead. Like some planning keynotes. Exactly how the old road map was. Except it should be broken down to updates. so we would have a rough idea when coming the sex shop, the cooking mini game, the swimming, ect...

Interesting questions! 😊

Hlextor

2 Questions: 1- Do you all manage to do that in roughly 40 hours per Week (regular 9 to 5) or does it take much much more? 2- How is it to work with a few people on such a game...most of us would get fired if we had boobs on the screen during work, not you guys...Is it a bit weird sometimes, or is everyone numb to it?

Troik

I found some issuses between my Savegame from previous versions i can say my game stuck at some point and i only can Farm money, no extended Story at all, so i farmed so much money now but i dont want Start new without nothing, i Would have a money Cheat pls 😅

Ну для того, что бы советовать, нужно хотя бы увидеть общий вид? Хотя бы примеры как это будет выглядеть?

Vulgar Joys

Nice info about your team and your and their detailed tasks! Oh dear! Ann and Max above. This makes me melancholy. Best time ever!
