Updates and a poll
Added 2020-08-01 17:43:29 +0000 UTCSorry for being quiet for so long. I've been trying to finish up the next release of the drivers and struggling with getting the new Huion touch scroll working. That was interrupted by the summer vacation I had to have in pieces over the past couple of months.
The input stack has grown so obscure and complicated over the years, that it's very difficult to figure out how to make either the Wacom driver or libinput to accept events from an absolute wheel (which touch scroll is represented as). In addition, Huion and others straying further and further from the HID protocol is making the kernel driver more and more complicated, as it tries to bridge that gap. All that is making my work slow down considerably.
So, I've been thinking on changing my approach in a radical way. I won't share the details yet, as I want to experiment freely and keep my motivation. However, I'd like to poll you for your interest in using Wayland, as that affects my strategy. Please answer below. Refer to the distro adoption status, if you don't know if you're using Wayland or not.
Meanwhile I'll finish working on the next release before switching to research on how to lighten-up the development.
