For the ending bit about the Subaru tower scene: Subaru felt Lusbel's fear, which then Lusbel also felt, and then back to Subaru again, and so on. So their fears kept accumulating and ping-ponging between the two, where in the novels, Subaru isn't sure if he died from hanging or a heart attack from overwhelming fear.
