This might be my hottest MHA take, and I like Nana, but her “plan” to “help her son” was fucking awful. She knows AFO is the most powerful and connected person on the planet, so what does she do ? Leaves her son in the SAME country AFO mainly operates in, not only that but she put him up for adoption, you know a system that literally documents where kids go. Nana said she got rid of some papers saying she had a son but that’s like dumping out a glass of water and saying you can’t drown now. Sure her son was abusive and that’s on him, but she really set up her son for failure and resentment, her note to him as a kid basically said she was choosing to be a hero instead of his mother, of course he would resent her. She already planned to never see him again, so why not fake her own death, and have gran Torino give him a post mortem note, for him if his mom ever fell in battle. Her note would’ve been fine if he was an adult with adult sensible, and able to see the big picture but she gave that note to like an 8 year old, with the post mortem, the kid wouldn’t have to grapple with the fact that his mother abandoned him.
