I don't think it was a coincidence that Episode 23 had two declarations of Love through Elsa/Garfiel and Ram/Roswaal and Episode 24 focused on two characters (Beatrice/Roswaal) who have lost their purpose of living and are being given a reason to keep moving forward. I never thought of this.. but Elsa and Roswaal have some similarity. Elsa's is a little more literal and f*cked up. Her supposed first experience of warmth in her life is Literally being blanketed by the warmth of the guts of an implied *almost* sexual abuser to survive through a winter blizzard. Ever since then, she has been chasing after that warmth in becoming the bowel hunter. Roswaal on the other hand is chasing after the warmth of Echidna that he lost when she died 400 years ago, which he blames himself for. Everything he does is for that goal to be reunited with her again. What is the author trying to get at here? That on both spectrums of evil between Roswaal and Elsa, they both boil down to wanting a return to that initial experience of warmth and happiness again. Two people who allowed their past trauma take over and define their existence. Personal stagnation indeed.

2025-11-04 22:44:35 +0000 UTCY'know what? As lengthy as Season 2 (Arc 4) has been.. we needed this. When I think about it, Season 2 was all focused on building up our main party. We spent so much time on backstories, motivations and character development of the Emilia Party - from Emilia, Subaru, Roswaal, Beatrice and Otto. With the introduction of Garfiel and Frederica as new characters. This was a packed season indeed. I think without this season of growth and development.. the Emilia crew was never gonna last in the Royal Selection. Subaru would've continued self sacrificing himself, Emilia would never grow up and learn to stand up for herself, Roswaal would still be the toxic manipulator of events, Ram would still be a silent pawn of Roswaal, and Beatrice would still live her life alone in the library. People would've died but they wouldn't matter cos Roswaal/Subaru would become laser focused on just pushing Emilia forward. Technically it was the Roswaal party cos he was the one in control puppeteering everyone lol. But now we have this new Emilia taking charge. Which is always great to see.

Episode 12-13 was the witches tea party and therapy session with Satella, Episode 14 was the Straight Bet against Roswaal and we've gone on without dying ever since. So 13 episodes from Episode 12 to Episode 24 so far. That's actually REALLY good 😁
