Minerva is ALL about Empathy, to be point where it actually becomes unreasonable... for us who have witnessed all of Subaru's struggles and all the ways he has suffered through death... Minerva's words are gaslighting... But from Minerva's perspective (and probably all the witches) Subaru's Return By Death Power is a blessing rather than a curse, the ultimate show of love from Satella, since for them... Death doesn't hold the same weight as it does for normal humans.

He did call Subaru his "once in a lifetime windfall" in Season 1 after all 🥴 definitely does suggest he's known about Subaru from the very beginning. So... as per the Tome of Wisdom he probably sent Emilia to the capital to have her fateful meeting with Subaru. And through all the shenanigans with Elsa, the perfect situation would be created to test Subaru's capabilities as a defender of Emilia.. then bring Subaru back to the Mansion?

2025-08-18 13:19:34 +0000 UTCWait, Roswaal confessed that he hired Meili and Elsa to kill Beatrice and the maids for cornering Subaru. This means that he has some sort of connection with those two to be able to hire them. Could this hint that he also planned the events those two set up in the first two arcs with the insignia being stolen and the cursed Mabeasts? If so he must have been aware of Subaru from before he even came to this world. Or maybe the book just told him to set up those actions in advance whithout going into details. How much is the book telling Roswaal? Because last episode Subaru theorized that Roswaal does not know he has to die to activate his power, he just knows he can loop. Which explains why he didn't kill Subaru but instead beat him to force a restart. There's a lot we still don't know about basically everything.

2025-08-18 10:59:39 +0000 UTCRe:Zero just brings out the best discussions I swear. All the lore, the mysteries, the foreshadowing setups, the character development... I've never seen a more legitimately lived in world that constantly gives you more questions the more you learn about the world history and a teen male protagonist as deeply human and endearing as Subaru. You can't help but root for him, even at his lowest point. Eventually some day when the series comes to an end, I hope to God that the author manages to answer everything that was introduced to us throughout the series in a satisfying manner. Satella and Subaru's alleged history for sure has to be some end game revelations.
