OnePiece Facts: Gol D. Roger was the one pirate that started the entire series basically, announcing to look for his treasure 'the one piece' and was the only pirate in 800 years who successfully found it AND sailed across the whole world and was given the title of King of pirates
Unfortunately when he was on a quest for the One piece at the time Scynthia had to leave their ship to look after the kids being sick Buggy and lil' Shanks. Surrendering that it wasn't her time to know about the One piece yet and when they reunited with Roger she refused to hear about it till she'll see the treasure with her own eyes again one day and personally experiencing the adventure, whilst uncertain of her future
