As with the Midsommar guide please be aware there are moments here with graphic violence and full-frontal nudity. It's only stuff from the film but you can be certain those will be the points your family members decide to come check on you!
If you spot any mistakes/things that should be uncensored then please do let me know (with a timestamp if possible) as I've kept all the files and can easily reupload it with those errors fixed.
In other news the script for The Complete Guide to The VVitch just passed 45,000 words! The work continues..

Another example of the brilliant use of "bait and switch" (and also overused horror movie tropes) in the film is chopping. The first time I watched it, as the credits were rolling I thought "wait... There wasn't a knife kill??" Annie is chopping tomatoes in one scene, then of course the walnuts being enthusiastically chopped up at the party. In another scene, Steve's back is to us, but we can clearly hear him chopping vegetables for the "really good" meal he makes for the family. I don't know about anyone else, but I was totally expecting a knife kill at some point. It amped up the tension for me, and then subverted my expectations. Amazing film.

2024-08-15 01:34:55 +0000 UTCI can answer what I think you meant: Paimon wanted a male host, who was supposed to be Charles, Annie Graham's brother. Charles killed himself, blaming his mother for his death, he was described as having schizophrenia. We can presume that Paimon was trying to take over but could not due to Charles' successful suicide. Then, when Peter was born (the next male host), Ellen was not in contact with Annie and the family, because Steve (Annie's husband) had forced a no contact. The host of Paimon became Charlie, Annie's daughter, because Ellen had contact with the family during this period. Ellen had to have direct contact with the host of Paimon, which is why she breastfed Charlie rather than Annie, which is extremely unusual. Typically mothers perform their own breastfeeding. We can assume it was never meant to last as long as it did, and the family was supposed to erm,,,ascend, for lack of a better word, at the point of Charles. It only got to the next generation because of Charles' suicide and Ellen's lack of access to Peter. This does lead me to question who the third head would have been, if there were only 4 members of the Graham family at the time (Ellen, Martin, Charles, Annie). I suppose it could be Martin, Ellen, and Annie, but that directly opposes our current theory regarding his want for the heads. However, traditionally, Paimon is depicted with four heads, not three. There are a lot of questions. Sorry if this did not answer yours.
