A Massive Pain In The Ass - 4/6 [Little Sh*t Part 10]

[Previous Part]

The sun was bright beyond the dorm windows when Katsuki woke up, yawning a little and stretching his arms up above his head. A little whine came from beside him when he moved, and he looked down to see baby Izuku blinking up at him, one hand tapping lightly on his ribs.

“Sorry,” he chuckled, dropping his arm again to lie across Izuku’s warm body. “M’sorry I was mean to you last night.”

Izuku just puffed out his cheeks, papping Katsuki’s All Might plushie with his little hand.

“S’okay, Eri cleaned him for me, see?”

He held it up for Izuku to inspect, and Izuku rolled over clumsily to look closer, planting a little kiss on the old toy. Katsuki couldn’t help but crack a smile at that – Izuku was always so free with his affection, even toward a toy.

“M’gonna take care of you today,” he promised, wrapping Izuku up in a hug. “We’re gonna play together lots, and read stories, and maybe I can make Spiky Hair show us some hero stuff, since they all have quirks.”

Izuku cooed happily, burbling his agreement and suggestions, and Katsuki nodded along, taking mental notes of every attempted word.

When he took a long breath, though, he froze, screwing up his face before he took another tentative sniff.

“Oiiiii,” he called, rolling away quickly to thump Spike Brain on the leg. “He poooooped.”

Much to everyone’s surprise, Katsuki kept his promise. He diligently helped Izuku drink from his bottle of formula, miraculously kept him from throwing it across the room when he decided he was done with it, and even helped him wipe his face clean afterward. Most of the morning, in fact, was spent with Izuku either at his side or in his arms, being clumsily half-carried-half-dragged to wherever they planned to play next. Every time someone tried to help – or, as Katsuki put it, interfere – he just wrapped his arms around Izuku’s waist and hitched him up again, hauling him off to some deserted corner where they could be alone. Even the pair of littlified girls couldn’t get close to him, when they wanted to “play with the cute baby”. Katsuki was too protective, too possessive, even though Izuku didn’t seem to mind either way. Thankfully, while he didn’t seem opposed to playing with the girls, he was more than happy to have Katsuki’s undivided attention, too.

They spent the first few hours playing with blocks, stacking little towers and carefully-balanced buildings, making up stories together with their All Mights in the little city. And when they tired of that, they moved on to playing pattycake. Kirishima had expected that one to end quickly, but it seemed to be baby Izuku’s favourite game, and Katsuki had suddenly developed a world of patience for it.

Izuku still hadn’t gotten the hang of sitting up, which posed a few problems as they played, but Katsuki had quickly figured out how to prop him against a wall or a sofa to keep his balance, and half the time they both lay on their stomachs anyway, with Katsuki crawling around to move things or set them up, and Izuku happily waving his hands around and rocking from side to side on his round little belly. He actually seemed to do a pretty good job of moving himself around just by rolling, wiggling around like a weird snake to adjust himself on the floor, kicking his arms and legs to get a little leverage. And he’d become an expert at getting from sitting up to lying down, even if it wasn’t always intentional.

Katsuki found the accidental ones hilarious, so it was probably worth the momentary panic every time Izuku fell to the side unexpectedly, his mouth turning into a perfect little O in his surprise. It got a good laugh out of Katsuki, surprisingly genuine in his glee, and then he patiently helped Izuku back to where he wanted to be, whether that was upright or otherwise.

But after their hours of breakfast and playing together, nap time came, and Kirishima had been dreading it since long before the moment came to cart them upstairs. They’d only managed to get Katsuki to sleep for the first time by calling his dad, and with Masaru stuck at work, they were going to have to make do without, this time. He hoped they might get away with tucking him in and reading him a story, assuming he didn’t put up a fight about that too, and assuring him that Masaru was coming to visit later, now that they finally had clearance from the school to do so.

It had probably helped that so many of the parents had complained about not being able to take care of their de-aged kids when they’d had their turn under the effects of the quirk, but they all knew it just wasn’t safe to take the kids off-campus when the whole point of the dude’s involvement with the league was to make heroes vulnerable. Hopefully all the parents were smart enough to get that.

“It’s time for your naps, buddy,” Kirishima informed Katsuki, when he began to discuss their next game. “Izuku needs his rest, and I bet you could do with a little lie down too, even if you don’t fall asleep.”

Katsuki hummed thoughtfully, looking down at the lump he was halfway through picking up again, and finally conceded a nod.

“Izuku needs a nap,” he confirmed. “I’ll take care of him.”

“You’re a real good helper, Kacchan. Thank you.”

“I know!”

Despite a little whine about it, Kirishima picked both the boys up, laughing when Katsuki squirmed against his grip. Izuku, on the other hand, just squealed his delight, clapping his pudgy hands together like they were on the most exciting roller coaster in the world.

“Ooom!”

Katsuki blinked at him, tensing up a little, and Kirishima paused to look him over briefly.

“Everything okay?” he asked

“Boom,” Katsuki mumbled to himself.

“Oooooom!”

“I know you meant zoom,” Katsuki huffed. “But I remember boom.

“Oooooooooooom!”

Katsuki sighed, almost looking his actual age again for a moment, and Kirishima couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Okay, you wanna zoom?” Kirishima asked. “We can zoom.”

“Oom!” Izuku repeated gleefully. “Oom oom!”

Without a word of warning, Kirishima took off toward the stairs, and Katsuki could only stare with wide eyes as they took the stairs three at a time, rocketing up toward the bedrooms. Izuku squealed and clapped the whole way, but Katsuki just sat there, mouth open a little, stunned. Maybe he really was a roller coaster.

“Alright!” Kirishima said triumphantly, as he skidded to a stop at Katsuki’s door. “The nap train has arrived at your station!”

“Woah.”

“It’s easy when you have bigger legs!” Kirishima laughed, shoving the door open with his hip. “We’ll have a race when you’re grown up again.”

“Will I win?” Katsuki asked, with an incredibly serious look on his face.

“Probably,” Kirishima chuckled. “Izuku would give you a run for your money, but you’d beat me.”

“Good.”

“That’s how it should be, huh? Best husband and wife pair of heroes in the world.”

“Yeah!”

Kirishima set them down once they’d made it inside, handing Katsuki his All Might pyjamas before he turned to help Izuku into his own. Katsuki huffed a little – it was supposed to be his job to help – but he was already struggling a little to do the velcro on his own, so he supposed Kirishima could help a little with Izuku’s.

“I gotta be close,” Katsuki said firmly, when he was done. “Gotta take care of ‘Zuku.”

He gripped the edge of his futon, dragging it over a little to make sure it touched Izuku’s, and Kirishima just smiled at him fondly, plonking Izuku down on the blankets.

“I’m sure Izuku will appreciate that,” Kirishima nodded. “It must be hard, being too little to do things on your own!”

“Yeah! But I’m big, so I can help!”

“Exactly. You’re such a good hero.”

“And husband!”

“Such a good hero husband,” Kirishima amended. “What do you think, Izuku? Is Kacchan the best hero husband ever?”

“Eee!”

Izuku clapped his hands happily, and Katsuki just smirked, pulling on one of his little hood antennae fondly.

“Good answer,” he said. “Good boy.”

He insisted on being the one to tuck Izuku into bed, refusing to let Kirishima help with that part, and finally he crawled into his own, making sure to stay close enough to give Izuku hugs or to hold his hand while he slept, just in case he had any bad dreams. Even when they started further away, they always ended up close anyway, snuggled together until someone woke them from their slumber.

“Here’s All Might,” Katsuki said fondly, booping Izuku on the nose with All Might’s face and making him giggle. “Goodnight ‘Zuku.”

“Nai!”

“Hairy, read us a story?”

“Sure!” Kirishima agreed, sitting down by their heads and reaching for the little stack of books Eri had left behind. “Which one?”

“Noooo!”

“Izuku wants one we haven’t read yet,” Katsuki translated. “Maybe the kitty cats?”

“Oh, that looks like a great one,” Kirishima agreed, settling in with it in his lap. “You guys get cozy, I’ll read it then show you the pictures so you don’t have to move.”

“Mmkay,” Katsuki agreed, already yawning. “You gotta do good kitty voices though.”

“I’ll do my best, I promise.”

Katsuki closed his eyes, resolving to just open them to see the little kitties on the pages when Kirishima held it up, and he managed a little smile when Kirishima put on a squeaky voice for the first cat – he sounded more like a mouse than a cat, it must have been a super small one. He barely cracked his eyes open to see the first pictures, chuckling when Izuku cooed and reached for the pages, then closed them again as soon as Kirishima went back to reading.

He never found out what the other kitties sounded like.
