Weekly Update - July 1st

Hey people! Sorry I've been gone so long, the health is still not 100% but I can look at a laptop screen without passing out again so here I am!

It's officially July, which means time for my Izuku's Birthday Event! You may have seen my posts on twitter recently, but if not, here's a calendar of posts!

You'll notice that these are obviously the public posts - What a Damn Hero and Thirsty Work have been on here for a while now! 

Leave a Light On will go up here in it's entirety on July 1st (I'm proofreading it as we speak) and A Mile In Your Shoes will go up on July 8th - so don't fear, you still get it early!

The threads listed will be posted on twitter, however a non-thread version will be posted here on Patreon too! I'm hoping to get them up on Friday 5th and 12th respectively; these ones won't be on Ao3 they'll be purely Patreon and Twitter.

"Two is better than One" will be up on the morning of July 15th Japan-time which will probably still be the 14th for a lot of you, so it's up to you if you want to wait for his birthday in your timezone to read it ;)

Final note, there will be slight spoilers at the end of this post for what these fics are about, so if you want to be surprised just skip once you get to the ───spoiler line─── near the end!

Aside from that, it's also a new month which means goal updates. I am... a little behind because of exams and illness haha, but hopefully this month will make up for it!

Word count as of July 1st: 232123 (out of 600,000) 

Being officially halfway through the year, I should be at 300k by now, so obviously being behind by 70k is quite a lot - OOPS. My Dekountdown fics should cover my 50k for this month, so I'll hopefully have two weeks left in July so start catching up on the debt! (cross your fingers for me lol). Technically I do have some more written but I only count it once it's published, so when I finally get around to posting my long ones it'll throw some higher numbers in there.

I really want to publish those ones but they need so much more work first :( I'm still so excited for them!!

As for the original content goal, it's pretty much just been uni work so I'm not quite sure if I want to count that haha. I'm apparently really bad at this goal, I keep getting caught up in fics instead ^^;

This is where I'm gonna talk about the upcoming fics with potential minor spoilers.

Fic 1: Leave a Light On

So this one has been an idea hanging around for a while, it shares some similarities with my old fic "Give a man a mask" in that Deku has an accident at work and ends up retiring, but in this one he takes more of a mental hit than physical. He turns Vigilante and Katsuki is the only one who figures out that it's Izuku, and he has to try and help him get back on track.

Fic 2: A mile in your shoes

My long-awaited Body Switch fic! Izuku and Katsuki hunt down and take on a villain they were told to leave alone, and end up in each other's bodies. They have to try and keep it a secret until it wears off to avoid being expelled. Also smut happens so that'll be fun.

Thread 1:  Budding Romance

Katsuki tries to apologise to Izuku for all the shitty things he's done, in the hopes that they can move on and he can eventually confess his feelings. Everyone says the best way to apologise is with flowers, so Katsuki begins the process of trying to figure out what Izuku's favourite flowers are (via trial and error).

Thread 2: Speechless

Izuku, with a crippling fear of public speaking based on traumatic experiences in the past, is required to present in front of the entire class. He expects jeering and torment like he got at middle school, only to find out that Katsuki is surprisingly supportive this time around.

Birthday Fic: Two is better than One

Pro-Hero Katsuki saves a civilian who offers to use her quirk to make a clone of him to help fight. The effects last long enough for them to spoil Izuku for his birthday.
