Happy Birthday Kacchan! - Part 3 [Final]

Bakugou woke up just after dawn with a raging headache and a nerd curled under his arm. With a little yawn he slipped out of the bed, heading for the bathroom to empty his bladder and guzzle water from the sink.

On his way back, his eyes landed on the little plastic box housing slips of orange paper, and with a sigh he sat down on the carpet, pulling the lid off and rummaging around to pick one. There was no way he would get through them all in one sitting, that much he knew, but he figured he may as well investigate a few sappy words while he cooled off, before he crawled back into the hot bed with Midoriya's sweaty body.

You're the manliest dude I know.

He snorted at the words, the writer ridiculously obvious, even if he hadn't recognised the handwriting. The next one was a much loopier script, but he knew Uraraka's hand immediately too.

You take everyone seriously and treat everyone equally. Not many people can do that. Thank you. 

The third slip was bolder, stronger, and it took him a moment to place their class rep's firm strokes.

Your unwavering determination toward heroism is admirable.

Okay, he had to admit, it was kind of nice. He wasn't exactly the kind of person who heard compliments often.

Thank you for letting me hang out with you, even if I annoy you sometimes.

“Dumb shitty-hair,” he muttered, snorting as he set it aside with the first.

Bakugou, I appreciate that your homework is always done on time. -Aizawa

Another little snort, this time with a smile playing on his lips.

You are a worthy opponent and rival. -Todoroki

Fuck. That one stung in a weird way.

You're the only person who helps me with my homework even though it's frustrating. Thank you for never giving up on me.

His hand trembled, scrunching the paper a little, but still he set aside Kaminari's sloppy writing and reached for another.

I know you work very hard, even if you hide it from your classmates. -Aizawa

Young Bakugou, you are a fine hero, I look forward to watching you grow and soar to new heights. -All Might

Stupid classmates, why did they think it was a good idea to ask his teachers? Shit. 

You will be an incredible hero, I have no doubt about that. - Aizawa

His eyes stung. He needed more sleep, clearly.

I can never say enough times how amazing Kacchan is. You blow me away every single day.

Dumb nerd, sleeping peacefully while Bakugou read his cheesy words.

The first traitorous sob forced its way out, choking him up, and immediately Midoriya was awake. He crawled out of bed and straight into Bakugou's lap, winding his arms around his neck and snuggling in close.

“This shit is stupid,” he forced between gritted teeth, tears streaming down his cheeks. “Why do you do this shit to me?”

“We all got to write whatever we wanted,” Midoriya smiled, kissing his neck. “No one looked at anyone else's, so we knew it was safe to say anything at all.”

“Shut up.”

“Were people super nice?”

He nodded faintly, clutching the last three slips in his fist like they were the most important words in the world. 

“I'm glad,” Midoriya smiled, kissing away the tears from his cheek. “You deserve every word, Kacchan.”

“So stupid,” he repeated, his tone completely unconvincing. “Why am I reading this shit?”

“They're not going anywhere,” Midoriya smiled. “Why don't you come back to them another time?”

“Fine.”

“Come snuggle with me, okay?”

“Fine.”

He led Bakugou back to the bed, burying them under the blankets together, and smiled as he leaned his cheek on Bakugou's warm chest.

“Be mine, Kacchan.”

“I already was.”
