Why I started Patreon and a huge thank you to all of you

I was never very public about why I started using Patreon, I didn't want to look like I was begging for help and pity considering others are much worse off than myself, but it's been nearly two months now and I wanted to share why this means so much to me.

At the beginning of this year our main income-earner lost their job unexpectedly. We ended up in a position where I was going to have to leave university, quit my job (which I love), and potentially end my athletic career to help support myself and my family. I have few qualifications (since I'm still at uni, lol) so it would have been hard enough to find a job anyway, but I also have a chronic illness which means working full-time is nigh impossible without destroying myself.

As of today, my monthly Patreon earnings equal our monthly grocery bill, which means I no longer have to worry about us and our cats starving to death. Our main earner also found another job, and while it doesn't pay as well as their old one, it does cover our monthly bill payments at home. Between the two of us we are now back above water, which means I can continue doing what I was doing without having to struggle to make ends meet.

I don't normally share much about my private life, but seeing that number today made me so happy and so grateful – I've met some incredible people through the fandom world and I love you all for being so kind and generous. You really have made my life richer.

Thank you so much <3

Oh, honey, I’m very happy to hear that everything is as okay as it can be, and that this has helped you and your family. I hope everything continues to get better!
