Feast your eyes on my latest video: Why University Feels Like a Scam Now.
It's been a big ol' production to bring together. Filmed on-location in Cambridge, and featuring a stellar group of interviewees, it's an attempt to understand what's gone wrong with university (if anything has gone wrong) and what we can do to fix it.

Wales, as far as I know, falls in line with the student finances arrangements in England now; it's only Scotland which continues to have a different system. I guess Wales is able to revert if it would like as education is a devolved issue. Going into the differences would have been great; unfortunately it was one of those things where it was already an hour-long (ish) video and we had to decide what to focus on!

2025-10-08 08:41:54 +0000 UTCnice video!! i can't count how many times me and my friend group have gotten into tiffs about our loans. i got “lucky” so to speak and grew up in Wales and went to a uni in my town, so I managed to save up a lot of my loan since it was the max level and the Welsh gov just went bonkers sending me grant after grant because I had “grown up in a poor postcode” and they really wanted working class folk in uni, whereas a lot of people I knew were struggling on the lower level loans and not seeing any of those grants despite being in a similar financial situation to me, but because their postcode was “better” than mine they got less support. Id have loved to see you talk about those kind of differences drawn between Wales and England (but to be fair, I don't even know if those differences exist anymore)
