A New, More Casual Format

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Friday Update, in which I give a little insight into what I’ve been up to for the past seven days.

I thought I’d take the opportunity to use this latest entry in the Friday Update to celebrate a new format we’ve been trying out lately!

Some of you will have noticed me popping up in your YouTube or Nebula feeds a little more regularly, and on a different platform over the past few weeks.

And, that’s because we’ve been experimenting with cutting down parts of my Monday night live show as little news-focussed clips.

Many of you will know this is something I’ve experimented with on and off for a number of years.

I love making long, in-depth videos. But, I’m always aware of how long it takes us to put them together!

It doesn’t exactly allow us to cover topics with much speed or regularity.

By the time I get around to covering a topic, it’s usually in a mostly retrospective fashion; or, at the very least, a long time after I first decided to make the video!

Every time we’ve tried it recently, we’ve struggled to make it work in terms of workload.

It’s been hard to justify taking time away from “main channel” videos; particular given that, if “main channel” videos end up taking longer to make, they have to perform even better on release to cover the additional cost.

But, this time round, they appear to be getting some traction.

We’ve had a couple surpass 100,000 views; and people seem to get something out of them.

It’s all very exciting, and I’m hoping it can compliment the main channel videos really well.
