Tom Nicholas, on the Case | The Friday Update

This week I’ve had the unusual experience of being able to mostly get my head down and write.
My job is strange in that the most important part of what I do is writing. However, the fact we make videos (rather than me just publishing a blog) means there’s always a million things conspiring to keep me away from that task.
It might be filming or interviews or travel or arranging production logistics… it’s all very important stuff. But it does leave me craving some time sat, undisturbed at my laptop.
Fortunately, other than broadcasting our Monday night livestream and overseeing some aspects to do with that, I’ve mostly been able to sit down and crack on with writing this week.
Some of that has been spent on a secret (but very exciting) project I’m not allowed to speak about just yet.
The rest has been spent ploughing ahead with the script for my upcoming video about postmodernism.
At the end of last week, I ended up with a somewhat passable, yet quite boring version of what I wanted to say for most of the video.
It got the information across, but lacked any real sparkle.
This week, then, I’ve been focussing on making it a bit more fun. And we’ve ended up with something a little bit detective themed.
Which I think is going to turn out quite fun!
