Video: Britain Hasn't Always Had a Monarchy

Hey Everyone!

Here it is! My latest video! And, as I've mentioned in the latest few instalments of the Friday Update, it's the first of several videos which I'm eb releasing over the next few weeks to "celebrate" the upcoming coronation of Charles III here in the UK.

In each episode of what I'm called "Treason Fest 2023", we'll be looking at a different person or group who have tried to overthrow the British monarchy.

For this first episode, we're taking a look at the English Revolution.

Enjoy!

And, as ever, thanks so much for your generous support!

Tom

I'm so glad you liked it! To be honest, given we'll have released the last episode of the mini-series the previous day, I'll probably just have a lie-in on the day of the coronation!

Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I don't have much awareness of republican movements in other parts of the commonwealth I'm afraid. Which is far, far, far to say that they don't exist, just that my knowledge is woefully inadequate. I know Australia has a very strong republican movement and William and Kate's Caribbean tour was interesting to watch. In the process of writing this comment, I've actually decided this might be a good video for at some point in the future!

Magnificent video! I am so proud of the levellers and diggers. Centuries before the French and Marx -- they dared to think the unthinkable. Who can deny what John Ball preached: "When Adam delved and Eve span, Who was then the gentleman?". Thanks Dr Lord Tom, sir - see you at the coronation for the music especially "Zadok the Priest".

Great start to this series, Tom. Looking forward to the rest of it. Kinda glad that Canada's (where I am) taking a bit of a 'meh' approach to the coronation. Would love to hear your thoughts at some point about republicanism/anti-monarchy in the King's "other realms" too.
