Next Video Update!

I said in a recent post that I'd keep everyone up to date with some of the reading I'm doing for my next video and so I thought I'd suggest this little volume.
This book was actually recommended to me by someone on Twitter after I did a call out looking for books about the history of states. And it's a really interesting dive into the birth of early states which critiques some popularly-held preconceptions about early agriculture.
It also made me chuckle because, whenever I'm writing about anything, I have a tendency to want to start from the very beginning of time and to tell the entire history of the universe in order to fully contextualise the topic I'm talking about. In trying to write about the history (and future!) of countries, however, I've found that it's been genuinely useful to write about early humans.
Anyway, I had a couple of really good days of writing towards the end of last week and, while I don't think it's going to be my most popular video ever (I simply can't find a good way to make it super clickable!), I think it's going to be a fun deep dive into some topics which effect us every day.
