I thought I'd do a quick general post to say welcome to those of you who have signed up to support my channel on here recently!
Support from Patrons is really essential in ensuring I can put aside proper time to work on these videos as well as in helping to cover the many expenses which making them requires such as stock footage licensing, music licensing, books, research expenses, costume and the occasional bit of filming equipment.
I've just posted the Commentary Video for those of you in the $5/month and above tiers which hopefully, along with the script, provides a bit of added context and insight into my most recent video, A Brief History of the Culture Wars.
It took slightly longer this month as I was busy preparing for my PhD Viva exam which I passed last Friday with minor corrections (the photo here is of my locked-down celebrations)!
I'm currently hard at work on my next video; been doing lots of reading this week and have just begun to put some words in a document that will eventually become the script!

Thank you Gabrielle, I'm really glad you found my videos and that you've been enjoying them. Finding ways to communicate complicated topics is always my goal and so it's great to know that I sometimes achieve it!!

I definitely think there's an interesting video to be made about afrofuturism, however I would suggest I'm probably not the person to make it. I've given some thought to, in the future, trying to find ways to collaborate with some exciting thinkers in order to round out my What the Theory? series to cover some topics outside of my knowledge and experience but I think that might have to wait until I'm in a position where I'm able to delegate some tasks such as editing to someone else as there would be a lot of work to do to coordinate stuff like that if I was to do it properly!
