My plan was to make my next video about the Frankfurt School. I'm really interested in doing a bit of an overview of what the School was/is, why it was set up and what it achieved (and didn't).
I'm still planning on making that video very, very soon. However, after seeing Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Little Women the other day, I think I'm now going to postpone that video a couple of weeks in order to make something about what I thought was an absolutely wonderful film.
In particular, I want to look at how it uses the act of adaptation to draw out certain themes in the text and how it engages a really subtle postmodern outlook which allows us to enjoy the original story whilst inviting us to be critical of it.
Has anyone else managed to catch it yet? It won't be absolutely necessary to have seen it to get something out of the video but, if you like good films, I can't help but give it a hearty recommendation!
