Hey all! Joz here! Sorry this isn’t Hocus Pocus, but we had a last-minute hiccup that meant changing gears FAST to still get you a Halloween-themed Reroll. I’m actually really proud of what I churned out in two days, at a time when I am and have been working 60-70 hours a week. But that’s a horror story for another time.

As Paulo and I were kicking around ideas, I randomly threw out It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, and then realized I really wanted to run it. I love these animated peeks into yesteryear, and had fond memories of this one. I had forgotten, however, how bonkers it is. Looking at you, Snoops.

There’s no real throughline, more like little vignettes that feel like animated comic strips, but what I realized I’d adored so deeply was the music. Vince Guaraldi is a wizard, as far as I’m concerned, and watching it again was like being wrapped in a warm, magical, childhood-spooky Halloween hug.

So that’s the energy I was going for—until two immediate fright check results gave us a slightly different tack.

Still, pleasingly, at least for me, I think we managed to capture that childhood fear of the unknown that turns out to be just pumpkins and candles, white bedsheets with eye-holes, and green pan-stick and pointy hats made of shiny polyester.
