Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Part 4

It's funny for how challenging this show is to run, how some episodes can feel so easy. I don't know why it is, but some episodes just roll off the tongue and I just feel like I'm playing along with a naturally evolving story. TMNT2 has been so much fun to run and it has just felt so easy. I don't think I've taken a single break to think the whole time. It helps when the actors are nailing it, but some movies I just feel at home in the world in a way that I don't need to worry about anything and I can just play the game. I often get told that Bill and Ted sounded insane to run, but I actually found that campaign very easy. E.T. on the other hand I found very difficult. There was a lot of hard work to try to keep that story moving in interesting ways, to tell the story without putting my hand on the wheel, so to speak. Wizard of Oz is a fan favorite, but that one was also very difficult, trying to navigate the lore and find ways to keep the world alive and engaging. Weekend at Bernie's sounded very easy, and guess what, it was.

I'm not really sure what makes some campaigns make my job feel easy, and some feel difficult. I make it try to sound easy either way, but there is a pretty big range. There are a lot of factors. If the world has a ton of built-in lore that I feel the need to "get right" that can make it difficult just because there's so much to keep exact track of. If there are a lot of moving pieces, especially moving pieces that the players don't have direct eyes on, it can be difficult to keep track of, but also keep the story making sense with important story points happening off screen. If the players are playing fun characters, that makes my job a lot easier just because they can have fun and there is less work for the engine of the story to provide entertainment if the scenes themselves are entertaining.

Anyway, this has been a real fun one. Hope you're enjoying it as much as I have.
