Halloween 3 Part 5

I didn't foresee Halloween 3 going this long, but here we are. Whatever. It's the end of a trilogy; it's earned it. To be honest, the best approach is always to let a story go as long as it wants to go. But I have an inherent instinct to not let any of these go past four episodes. If we're hurtling past four episodes I always feel like I've overstayed my welcome, but audiences consistently seem to like the longer stories, so it's probably just me.

In general I think longer stories are better, they offer more possibilities, there's more room to play. But for us, in an improv-based format, the thing I worry about is the performers getting tired of the story. And when you're improvising, that's absolute death for the story. And to be frank, when I first created the show, my original idea was that every movie would be a single episode. But at that time I had no idea how the show would really work. I remember Jon needling me during early campaigns that we were supposed to be finishing movies in one episode. Of course now-a-days, one episode is a really short session. I do like one-parters though. Brevity is the soul of wit.

Anyway, it's easier to wrap up one of these when we have the possibility of a sequel and I have no desire to have a Halloween 4, so I've let this one take it's time and do everything it needs to do.

On another note, I revisited our mailbag just today (to add a little mailbag segment.) And I just want to thank you for how wonderful you all are and how meaningful all your messages are. It blows my mind that this little show we make has been able to reach so many people, and it is profoundly meaningful for me to hear from all of you. Happy New Years!

I would love for y'all to do the DnD Movie in Gurps, that would be HILARIOUS.

Replying to one of your maibags: I would love to hear y'all redo some bad/cult movies such as Manos The Hands of Fate. That sounds great! I do understand the reluctance, and the desire to target better-known movies for a wider crowd appeal. Still, as a fan of weird cult movies, I'd be tickled if that ever happened.
