The Rock part 1
Added 2020-03-15 03:59:16 +0000 UTCTo say it's been a crazy week is a bit of an understatement. With most of the world shut down for coronavirus, pretty much everyone's life is affected in some way. I just hope all of you are safe and healthy.
For artists, things are pretty upside down, as most projects are put on hold. The play that I've been in performances of is on indefinite hiatus. It's really nice though, that one of my projects is the reroll, which has no need to stop. Getting into some rerolling has given us a sense of normalcy. And for those of you stuck indoors, I hope we can provide some light entertainment.
The Rock is a really natural movie for us. Action movies aren't always the best rerolls, because too much action can bog down the story with too many dice rolls. But this movie has a lot of fun character beats, so it was an easy one to play. Plus it's got such big, funny characters. We were all able to have a real blast diving into them. I considered running it with Andy as Ed Harris's character. But I thought that going pvp wouldn't really work for various reasons. The main one is that it would inherently become tactical, which doesn't really match the tone of the movie. Plus, in the movie, Ed Harris doesn't really meet the main cast. It seemed like they might just run on parallel tracks, looking over maps. So I went standard with this one. The only downside is that we skip several great scenes at the beginning. But I think it's for the best, streamlining the beginning and getting us to the main characters. I think it worked out nicely.
Anyways, inching back into line with our regular schedule. The next episode, should be back to our usual Wednesdayish slot. Have a lovely week!
