I remember this session being somewhat serious and focused, but I realize now that I was thinking about parts 2 and 3, because listening back to part 1 tonight, it is utter goofballery. Fun episode. Hope you guys enjoy it.
Courtney was a nice addition to the cast. She's an excellent actor, and has been branching into writing and producing as well. My original vision for the show had a rotating guest chair, but it didn't really work out that way. This show is authentically hard to do, and I didn't feel confident dropping people in if I didn't have confidence in their performance and improv skills. Not to mention the weird open-ended nature of the show. It's hard enough to get busy, working performers to agree to jump in on an episode of a show they don't know. Now try telling them that doing an episode might lead to a five episode commitment depending on how the story goes. My regulars feel committed to the show and are used to the format, so they don't mind the weird scheduling setup. The point being that I ended up in the "rotating stable" model of show-building. I've been starting to bring the rotating guest chair in a little bit. Partly because the show has grown to the point that people want to be on. And partly because sometimes my regulars are hard to schedule. And also because I thought the show was ready for the guest spot. We've become experienced enough with the format that I don't need to be worried about how a performer who's style I'm not intimately familiar with will fit in.
This is a long-winded way of saying I'm trying out more varied guests from around the landscape of New York performers I know. Hope you like the new people. Don't worry, none of the regulars are going anywhere. And even when they do, we figure out how to get sessions scheduled when they're in New York.

I'm sorry to say, but I can't support this podcast any longer. An hour of directionless chatter isn't why I listen, and not why I sponsored. Best of luck to all.
