Adventure Time

One of the legs fell off (it's now sitting in my backyard as I type this, realizing that I need to figure out how to dispose of it.) So consequently we were sitting on the floor, using what we could as surfaces to play on. Jon was rolling on a large portrait of Iron Man that I found abandoned in the lobby of my building. I think this informal, firesideish set-up contributed to the loose tone of this episode, which I think does a decent job of mirroring the weird and wonderful sincere/silly tone of the show itself.
My favorite part of rerolling a tv show, is that the players can watch plenty of episodes to get a sense for the show, and understand their characters, without getting any spoilers of the actual story being run. For these types of adventures I really do enjoy it when the players don't know what their real-movie counterparts did. The downside of doing tv, and the main reason that I don't intend to make a habit of it, is that the listener is a bit less likely to have absorbed the characters through cultural osmosis, and needs to do more homework to get a basic grasp of the context.
Anyway, I think this episode turned out great. Silly and meandering like the show, but with some real heart. We even get a bit of pvp in. We haven't done a ton of intentional pvp on the show, but with my players, it has a tendency to come up organically. Hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.
