Pirates part 3

Ok, this one's in the books. Probably the silliest episode we've done. The mix of that specific group, plus the fact that the episodes were recorded so far apart led to a rare brew of slapstic comedy and general nonsense. Personally I love the silly episodes, but I try to keep a healthy mix of sillier ones to more story focused ones. Not that we're ever all that serious, but I know that there's a lot of different tastes in what listeners like in the show, so giving variety is key to pleasing the listeners, as well as keeping it interesting for us. As always, this is a pretty good channel to let us know what you're enjoying and what you're not.

Of course I never know if they're going to be epic or not. Pirates became a much more straightforward adventure movie, but I had drawn them a whole big open world to play in, with whole charts worth of hazards they could encounter on the open sea. Tim came up with a whole hidden adventure where they could face up to the Gods of the Aztecs who had cursed that gold. Of course, the players don't ever go near any of that stuff. Sigh . . .

Next episode we start in on our halloween movie, which will be Practical Magic, DM'd by Joz. Unfortunately there wasn't any time between June and October that all four of me, Joz, Andy and Scott were going to be in New York simultaneously, so Halloween 3 will have to wait another year. Apologies to everyone looking forward to it, but there was just no way to schedule it for this year. Anyway, Practical Magic turned out pretty good in my opinion.

Worried a bit about Pitr. I counted 3 "I hate myself"s in this episode. Told in a joking manner, but that's a warning flag sometimes. Can somebody give Pitr a hug? Thank you

Pauli’s Barbosa voice was spot on and delightful. Joz didn’t go for the spinal column as much which is unusual but Jack was totally being Jack. Comical stuff as always! Haven’t seen practical magic before. Hope it’s a good substitute for the ever elusive Halloween sequel!
