Time Bandits Part 2

Another day another episode. This one was a lot of fun, it also has the slight stress that we had a very short amount of time to record due to a hard out of one of the cast, so we didn't have time to take many breaks. Normally we take a few breaks to pee and unwind and that kind of thing, but this episode was recorded pretty much continuously, and I feel like it comes across in the energy in the room.

Time Bandits is quickly spiraling into its entirely own story, not really bearing much resemblance to the movie. Inevitable with this sort of movie, but I feel it particularly strongly with Time Bandits because it has less of an imprint on the modern popular consciousness than most of the movies we do, and because the principal characters don't have such clear personalities or identities that they could leave an indelible mark on any version of the movie (the way Bill and Ted do).

For reasons that will become clear after listening, it seems as if Time Bandits is finding a niche as a movie that pops in and out, rather than one that is released in a single stream. This is a new model for us, but one that I think serves the nature of the Time Bandits reroll well, although I wouldn't do it with any other movie.

Anyway that's it for us for now. Back in two weeks with . . . Pirates of the Caribbean.
