Blaze Fire - Painting failure

A lot of failures happen behind the scene but this time I think it's worth saying because it was to be ready for KupoCon which is coming up this weekend.

As you could see from the other pictures on the previous post, everything was smooth and beautiful. Everything at a good pace.

But then, here's the horror:

One spray can randomly decides to explode in my hands and splatter its oil over the pieces. (Wrong, it's not what you think)

So, I didn't know it would affect it as it wasn't visible to the eye. (oh no it gets worse!) The pieces looked perfectly fine and dry.

It was not visible until I apply the color to it and random dots suddenly form. The gloss paint does that if there is something oily on the surface.

I have been having trouble painting the pieces since! And there is no way to identify the ones that have been splattered or not because it looked perfectly fine.

I've tried a few hacks of my own, but didn't manage to fix it for the blade here.

Picture shows what happens when the paint decided to llama dodge the oil.

Cosplay god, you are a monster 💦💦

Must be time to sacrifice another virgin to the Fickle Cosplay Gods.

The only proper way is to sand the pieces and re-prime them!

Have you tried using paint stripper/remover? Although I'm not sure if it would eat through the 3D printed material

I mean, I understand we artists often are made to suffer for our art, but geez. >__<
