Emil final dressing up, step by step

Here comes the boring explanation of yesterday's work.

Until yesterday, Emil clothes were holding on pins that I carefully placed to have the exact pleats.The challenge was to sew everything without losing any position of any folds.

Lots of going back and forth for each step. To make sure the design lands where it needs to be, it is not just a scarf around his neck I can tell you that! This scarf has plenty of stitches and snaps.

We spent all day and night yesterday working in team to make sure that we can snap everything back in place more easily. It makes it so that when we move him he still keeps his outfit in the correct placement. If I need to change anything on the skeleton I can just remove and put it back how it was. Like that we don't have to worry about remembering how it was supposed to be or to constantly have to adjust everything.

Snaps are a savior for everything, we overuse them in everything we do.

We made him a cute grandma bolero with a huge button so the clothes fall nicely on him and a neck structure from craft foam to hold everything in place.

LZ sewed by hand all the pleats I have made, because she is much faster and literally the best at sewing, while my job was to position and pin them.

Today I added the belts floating out of his outfit. They are literally just floating out of nowhere. So I had to glue them on the cape. Thankfully it didn't leave any spots.

Which means that aside from his scepter which I already modeled, but didn't do anything with it yet beyond that.

Emil is finally done!

We finally did it, hard to believe after more than a year isn't!

We were so unlucky and cursed but who cares, it was worth it!
