Painting Zero's sword last part
Added 2020-05-23 18:00:49 +0000 UTCToday I will be putting mask n tape around the sword design, and it will take quite a bit of time, before I can paint the black parts.
Doesn't show but sanding, taping, glueing, painting is a long process that goes over few days so usually every coat of paint is 2 days to dry, so in between I work on something else. Not to mention the 3D modeling. We always forget to show those WIP!
Sewing is always very demanding when you want to be precise and want it to be fit. LZ works hard on patterns too, there isn't much to show in pattern form. Usually she uses left overs fabrics to not waste the good fabrics and make sure it fits our bodies as well as matching the references. There are a lot of little adjustments and it takes time to do it. And with the real fabric, it's the time she took to make beautiful stitch lines, straight and clean.
Wig styling takes days too, it's like a drawing, when you see it too much you have to continue it to the next days on a new eye.
In reality we work so hard that usually we're too tired to even wear the costume and make photos ahah 💦♥️
Aerith fabric we were not content with the colors, so here we are waiting for the new fabrics to come. It's been 3 times already! She is not a lucky one.
We keep on keeping on though.

I know how long it takes to mask things, making sure the tape is down tight so you don't have bleed thru and having to wait days for the paint to dry before you can do any sanding. The sword and details on it look excellent, you two are always dead on in your detailing, am always amazed at your work. I know nothing about sewing 😉, but I do know it's not as easy as it can look, LZ always does a excellent job.

And indeed you DO have to leave a piece for a bit so you can view it with new eyes later. I understand that part all too well! xD
