yeah its very hard to see the switch 2 competing with the steam deck, especially as the upgrade schedule for an official one is about 2 years (as opposed to 7) and the unofficial scene will probably pop off in the next few years

2025-04-15 14:27:59 +0000 UTCFor a minute when I heard the Nintendo news I thought "oh, maybe that would go to better salaries and more job security for the devs, that's cool", and granted Nintendo seems to have a huge ratio of employee carreer adherence. But then I remembered we live in a capitalistic hell hole and probably the money is going towards 10 more Nintendo Lands across the world. I got a second hand Steam Deck last year and it's truly mind-blowing how much ahead the company is, for one its game prices are adjusted to each country so we pay about 2/3 of the original price in Mexico; contrary to Sony and Nintendo that elevate the prices even more with taxes+currency conversion. I can emulate a bunch of forgotten stuff, the whole indie scene is on it, yeah I don't see myself in need of any other gaming hardware soon. Shame for Duskbloods because honestly It looks great imo.
