Storm Chase, June 7 & Yesterday’s Noodle-Nado

Good afternoon Patrons,

After a night of good rest, Daniel and I are heading to the panhandle for the 2% risk there. We’re not expecting tornadoes, but perhaps a pretty supercell and who knows what.

Yesterday we intercepted the pretty supercell West of Lubbock and was treated to a nice rope tornado. I got a great time lapse of it doing the squiggly wiggles and breaking up into multiple segments. If you look closely on the third slide, you can see the little sun lit spin up.

Good luck today soul chasers

Oh and of course I got pictures and video of pelicans and ships but forgot to try for a good pic of the cloud.

Those are beautiful! On June 5th I was rained out of my beach time on Jekyll Island Georgia. So I went to their pier where Claim Creek dumps into the ocean to watch the storms. Here in Georgia, the coast is the only place to see a full supercell. A couple passed over me but one in particular was close over St. Simon’s Sound and headed out to sea. There was a beautiful barrel cloud (if that’s not a term I’m just gonna throw it out there because that’s what it looked like and I’ve seen similar off shoots in your videos that later became tornados. I hope that makes sense. I kept hoping for a waterspout but it didn’t happen. I’ve seen them before but I was always on the beach and running for cover…once while pregnant. It was so beautiful that I wanted to just watch it but every maternal cell in me (I think k I got some extras) said get this baby to a safe place. 😂 That was the summer of 99’
