Vincent is Rick's former lover. He was a hunter of evil spirits in the 18th century. He charmed Rick to get closer, he waited for the most vulnerable moment and made a blow with a poisoned blade in the heart. But due to the fact that Rick has a unique structure of organs, he was able to survive, since his heart was not hurt by the deadly poison. Vincent died in a fire that Rick accidentally set up while escaping from the stables in which they were together at that moment.
The spirit / likeness of Vincent haunts Rick throughout his life, in dreams and in reality, driving him crazy. Vincent, during their relationship, then vowed never to leave Rick, no matter what happened. But Vincent did not know who exactly he swore to and who Rick was. He was sure that Rick was not a human, but he did not know which one, because the birth of such bastards from dragons and witches was kept in the strictest confidence and people had never seen them.
