When I brought home my new puppy, John Denver, I was walking into a challenge: integrating him into a home with two very different, very complex adult dogs. One was frail and aging. The other? Opinionated and over puppies. 😅
This week’s video is all about how I set everyone up for long-term success—without rushing the process. I’m walking you through the early challenges, the tools and training that helped, and what finally led to peace in a small house full of big personalities.

I don't have another dog so my SDiT will be an "only child" but I know we will add another pup in about a year or so, for my husband ;-) Thank you again for such great information.

2025-07-24 14:56:01 +0000 UTCGlad it was helpful! Highly recommend hiking vs. play dates if your dog is struggling with disengaging from dogs during play. I'll add your request it to the list. Logistically, it's a bit hard to get this kind of video because I can't use first person camera to get a view of Denver and the surroundings which means I need to bring someone to film for me. But I'll add it to the ideas list.

Realising now that i probs was too careful during my puppies first few months and didn’t let him socialise enough with other dogs, and now when he plays with other dogs he could not care less about me, hyper focused on the other dog. Could you sometimes maybe film a normal walk with Denver, loose leash, free roaming, passing dogs, games etc. Think it would be educational to just hear and see your habits and reactions❤️
