Covid-19 in North America!
Added 2020-03-13 14:47:13 +0000 UTCLots of viewers/Patreons/subs have been asking - how are people reacting to Covid-19 in the US/Canada?
Good question!
I don't think I'm going to do a video on it as it feels a bit click-baity and I'm sure people are a bit overwhelmed hearing about it all the time.. but I figured I'd share some details with you guys if you're interested!
1. Everyone is buying toilet paper like mad. WHY? Why are you going to the bathroom so much??
2. Covid-19 has completely taken over the news, social media and it's the only thing anyone talks about it.
3. You might have seen Trump's broadcast the other day, but the US is all suspending European flights (minus the UK). Wow! I feel so bad for people who have planned holidays and such.
4. Thankfully the border between Canada and the US is still open, so hopefully I can still get home in a few days... fingers crossed!
5. Hand sanitiser is all gone, as are most hand soaps.
6. Most things are closing - workplaces, events, concerts, sports, etc etc..
I think that's the main stuff! But the sun is still shining here and we're making sure to wash our hands, clean surfaces... hopefully the flight back to Ontario isn't too full of coughing people..! Hope everyone is doing well!!!

About the toilet paper: some people in Japan rumours that the materials for making mask and the toilet paper is the same.....so.......

2020-03-13 19:56:37 +0000 UTCYeah, what is that toilet paper thing about? I don’t get it either. And on top of the toilet roll shortage the Austrian government now requires all shops that do not sell vital items (like groceries or cigarettes ?!) to close! So, I can’t buy new clothes. I mean, give me a break! If I can’t get toilet paper, I will need lots of new underwear!

2020-03-13 18:31:52 +0000 UTCThe whole world has gone Corona-crazy! You really don't need to do a video on it as it is rolling 24hr news here. Keep your friends at least 2 metres away but keep your toilet roll close. safe travels back to the snow.

2020-03-13 17:52:55 +0000 UTCI just read that PM Trudeau's wife tested positive. Are there any theories about the 2 Chinese scientists who were working in a Canadian infectious diseases lab and were expelled a few months ago? Something like this all brings the crazies out of the woodwork.

2020-03-13 17:47:26 +0000 UTCI was delivering to Soho Farm House today and the lads told me that a guest was caught stealing hand sanitizer . They wouldn’t tell me who but I’m so intrigued.

2020-03-13 15:54:37 +0000 UTCUK Virus ALERT The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent virus threat and have therefore raised their threat level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, level may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.” The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. The virus has been re-categorized from “Tiresome” to “A Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots have raised their threat level from “Pissed Off” to “Let's Get the Bastard.” They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years. The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its alert level from “Run” to “Hide.” The only two higher levels in France are “Collaborate” and “Surrender.” The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability. Italy has increased the alert level from “Shout Loudly and Excitedly” to “Elaborate Military Posturing.” Two more levels remain: “Ineffective Combat Operations” and “Change Sides.” The Germans have increased their alert state from “Disdainful Arrogance” to “Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs.” They also have two higher levels: “Invade a Neighbour” and “Lose.” Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels. The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy. Australia, meanwhile, has raised its alert level from “No worries” to “She'll be alright, Mate.” Two more escalation levels remain: “Crikey! I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!” and “The barbie is cancelled.” So far, no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level.

2020-03-13 15:54:06 +0000 UTCWhat annoys me most are the people stealing face masks and hand sanitiser from Hospitals. The one place that needs them the most. I won't even go into the fact that face masks won't prevent you catching Covid-19.

2020-03-13 15:25:53 +0000 UTCHi, Alanna, very interesting, it's just the same back here in the UK. It is virtually the only thing mentioned on the news and the shop shortages are the same, I do not understand why everyone is buying toilet rolls. Don't worry about getting back to Ontario, Mr Trump wont stop people leaving. We all need an Alanna cooking video to cheer us up. Looking forward to your next video soon.
