A few of you have been asking for this for awhile... I hope you enjoy! It's so strange watching old videos of yourself.

Also - why does my voice sound like that??

Fun trip down memory lane. I remember watching all of your moving to England advice/tips videos thinking wow, I wish I could be brave like that. I found them interesting and entertaining. I think I found you sometime in 2018. Keep it up! Looking forward to tomorrow for more A&N :)

Cheers Andrew!! Comments/thumbs ups always help!

Adventures and Naps

That's very true! There's loads of old stuff that new subs probably haven't gone back and watched.

Adventures and Naps

Definitely used a different microphone, that's a good point!

Adventures and Naps

I too think the nose stud was cute. Who's hating on that? What I learned from this video is that I should be commenting more on YouTube because that will help move you up the popularity lists and keep you making more videos. Thank you for the trip down memory lane and for making us all smile again.

Yeah, we hear our voices through the bones in our own skull. This is why you can buy bone conduction headphones. They don't go in your ears, so you can hear the outside world while listening to your headphones.

The Raven

It would be interesting if you did a remake of some of your old videos to compare comments from people that haven`t seen them before, like your new subscribers.

Graham Lavers

Thanks Adam!! I definitely like my recent style more than the old videos, but you live and learn! Thanks for sticking around!

Cheers Steve!!

Thank you David!! Means a lot!

Thanks David!! I think the accent changes depending where I am and what I'm doing. If I'm sitting at home, I think it's much less Canadian sounding. If I'm drinking ciders with my parents in Ontario, the accent comes out in full swing!

Thanks so much!!

Thanks Shaun, really appreciate it!!

It was an eat this video that i first saw and then i watched about 10 in a row! It was your humour and your niceness that got me hooked and you were my first subscription on youtube. It is interesting to go back to see how things have progressed over time. You are definitely more professional and relaxed and have developed a style that suits you and comes across well, in my opinion. I love the content you put out and it has been fun following your journey into the British lifestyle. You are the only person i support financially and am happy to do it because each video is interesting and funny. By the way, the nose ring was nice and you should put it back in just to piss off the haters.

Very Funny! Great Topic for this Episode... ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

I love the "foreigners talk about Britain" stuff. Particularly the food. That's when I found you. Then you kept coming round on youtube and I enjoyed every time so I subscribed. My first ever youtube sub! I now sub to about five other creators. I'm here because you are clearly a 'good egg' and I want to show some appreciation/support. The sad thing about youtube is that the rapport that we feel with creators goes only one way - patreon helps address that as creators know they are engaging with someone that has committed to supporting them. I've met one of my youtube subs in real life, Joolzy from "Joolz Guides" - exactly the same in person as in his videos.

Another enjoyable video, Alanna. I like the gradual progression of your videos - thereโ€™s certainly nothing to be embarrassed about. How many of your followers (especially the critics) would put the time and effort into entertaining the masses? And am I alone in thinking you are gradually losing your Canadian accent?

David Young

Hi, Alanna, fascinating to see your old videos, we don't notice the subtle changes in ourselves over time until we do something like that. Your thoughts and views are always interesting, I can never understand people who abuse someone else for stating an opinion, I'm glad you never let them put you off. Looking forward to your next video soon.

Stephen Parker

Nice work, thanks. Your videos were always fun and interesting, but you can definitely see a good progression in style over the years. More of your dry sense of humour in videos in recent years is a big plus for sure. Still canโ€™t believe how many nasty comments and dislikes some of the videos got, you were always very polite and any slightly negative comments about the UK were probably shared by most Brits. I assume it is casual viewers that are doing the trolling, rather than subscribers. Likely the same with creeps commenting on your appearance.

You voice does sound different in the older videos, maybe the microphone or a different echo in the room. The food one was the one that made me subscribe

Simon

Yes it's strange hearing yourself, I remember recording my own voice when I was younger and when playing it back thought I don't sound anything like that it must be the mic. Think it's the sound bouncing round inside your head makes it sound different than when you hear it from another source
